3 Carolina Technical Fabics (CTF) is the newest, most modern, fully integrated fine fabric textile plant built in the USA. Warping: Organizing a set of (warp) yarns that run lengthwise and parallel to the salvage and is interwoven with the fill yarn. The sheet of yarns is wound together on a beam for the purpose of weaving and knitting. Warping Slashing: The process of coating an adhesive onto a loom beam for weaving or knitting. This adhesive acts as a binder to hold the glass filaments together during highspeed weaving and knitting. Slashing Weaving: The process of creating fabrics using intersecting warp and fill yarns. Fabrics are woven using many different wave patterns including plain, basket, leno, satin, crowfoot, twill, unidirectional, high modulus and several others. Different weaving patterns give the fabrics the specific properties needed for differing applications. Weaving Finishing: The process of putting a coating on the fabric after weaving. The yarn is then woven into a variety of different fabric weights and thicknesses. Texturizing For Industrial Insulation Fabricators Weaving: Lewco specializes in weaving bulky fabrics for abricators many industries and applications. Texturized fabrics are used to gain thickness for insulation applications, adhesion qualities for reinforcement applications and particulate capture with good air flow for high temperature filtration applications. 6 CERAMIC FIBER BLANKET / FABRICS Lewco Ceramic Fiber Products Lewco Refractory Ceramic Fiber products have two (2) temperature grades-2300ºf(1260ºc) and 2610ºF(1430ºC). Lewco Ceramic Fiber products feature a broad family of products that include Bulk Fiber, Needle Felted Blanket, Paper, and Textiles. These products are ideal for High Temperature furnaces, filtration, gasket applications, stress relieving, and other refractory applications. Lewco CSM Super Mat CMS Fiber Products are manufactured using an Amorphous Calcium, Magnesium, Silicate (alkalineearth-silicate greater than 18%) fiber which is soluble in body fluids. CMS Fiber Products are made from a long, spun fiber yielding excellent thermal conductivity and stability. These products are manufactured in an ISO and ISO Quality Control System. These fabrics are ideal for many high temperature applications up to 2300ºF (1260ºC). Lewco Ceramic Fiber Fabrics can be laminated with aluminum foil or coated with a variety of compounds including Vermiculite, Silicone, PTFE, Acrylic, and Neoprene, 1 or 2 faces. These products are well suited for applications including Removable/Reusable Insulation Blankets, Stress Relieving, Gaskets and many more. 7 Silica 98% Silica Fiber to 1800 F Lewco Sil Mat insulation is manufactured using 98% pure textile grade silica fiber needled together into blanket/felt form. Lewco Sil Mat base fiber is made through a hot extrusion process yielding 6-11micron, non-respirable fiber. This fiber is then processed to maximize thermal efficiency. Lewco Sil Mat is INCOMBUSTIBLE, ASBESTOS FREE, NON-RESPIRABLE, and contains no ORGANIC, or RESINOUS BINDERS. Typical applications include engine exhaust system insulation, hot industrial equipment insulation, and many others. 9 SEALINGS AND GASKETS Lewco Style SWOG (Spiral Winding with Outer Guide Ring) gaskets are manufactured to ASME B16.20 dimensions for B16.5 flanges with a preformed metal strip (304ss or 316SS) and soft filler material (Flexible graphite). The outer guide ring (Carbon Steel) helps center the gasket within the flange. Lewco Style A Packing is braided from graphite-ptfe compound with lubricant. It has a very high thermal conductivity and high flexibility providing excellent volumetric stability. Lewco Style A can be used in pumps, agitators, mixers and kneader centrifugal pumps. Non-Asbestos Gaskets Lewco Style Packing is braided from carbonized Polyacrylonitrile fibers that have been impregnated with PTFE emulsion. Lewco Style is inert to almost all corrosive chemicals. It has excellent thermal conductivity.
