2 = 2 = PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES: HAZARDS IDENTIFICTIONS : HEALTH HAZARDS OF ELECTROLYTE ( ACUTE AND CRONIC ) : These chemicals are contained in a sealed can. Risk of exposure occurs only if the capacitor is mechanically or electrically abused. The most likely the risk is acute exposure with capacitor vent. EYES : Contact with Electrolyte may cause irritation, redness and pain. SKIN : May be hazardous in case of skin contact. Irritation may occur on skin in contact. Skin inflammation is characterized by itching, scaling, reddening or occasionally blistering. INHALATION : Occasional mild irritation to the mucous membrane of the nose and throat may occur just like mist or dust level. INGESTION : Swallowing large amount may cause gastrointestinal symptoms. FIRST AID AND MEASURES : EYES : Flush eyes with plenty of water till get relief. Get medical relief. SKIN : Remove contaminated clothes and put plenty of water on bare skin portion. Shower the water till relief is observed. Get medical aid. INHALATION : Remove from exposure and and move to fresh air immediately. Use oxygen if available. INGESTION : Drin minimum 2 glass of water and seek medical attendance.

3 = 3 = FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES FLASH POINT : NOT APPLICABLE AUTO IGNITION TEMPERATURE : NOT APPLICABLE. EXTINGUISHING MEDIA : Any means suitable for extinguishing surrounding fire. FIRE FIGHTING : In case of fire in an accident area, use water, CO2 or dry chemical extinguishers if capacitors in their original container, the fuel of the fire is paper only. For bulk quantity of unpacked capacitors do not use water. ACCIDENTAL REALEASE MEASURE Electrolyte is a non-hazardous waste when spilled or disposed of, according to RCRA Regulation 40CFR 261. STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED : Wear fire resistant gloves to pick up broken, damaged capacitors. Transfer to waste-basket for disposal. WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD : Dispose off in accordance with Local, State and Federal Regulations norms. PRECAUTIONS HANDLING & STORAGE : Avoid physical damage. Handle with care.

4 = 4 = HANDLING AND STORAGE: The capacitor should not be opened, destroyed or incinerate, since they may leak or rupture and release to the environment as the ingredients sealed in container (can). Do not place the capacitor near heating equipment, nor expose to direct sunlight for longer period. EXPOSURE CONTROLS & PERSONAL PROTECTION: RESPIRATORY PROTECTION : Respiratory protection is not necessary under conditions of normal use. Provide proper ventilation for capacitor venting. Avoid confined areas with venting capacitor. VENTILATION : Not necessary under condition of normal use. PROTECTIVE GLOVES: Not necessary under condition of normal use. Personal protection is recommended for venting capacitor. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY: STABILITY: Stable. CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Heating, mechanical or electrical abuse.
