2 Project Code: 03SB03JG Spraying Systems,, DG TeeJet, and, and Greenleaf Technologies AirMix and TurboDrop nozzles were evaluated. Roundup WeatherMAX was applied at a rate of 23.3 oz/a (1 lb ai/a) in spray volumes of 2.5, 5, and 10 gallons per acre. In analyzing the data as a factorial arrangement of treatments (spray nozzle x spray volume) there was no significant effect observed due to either factor or with the interaction of the two factors. Findings indicate that when the same rate of Roundup WeatherMAX was applied, weed control was equivalent regardless of the nozzle selection or spray volume. Furthermore, findings showed that weed control with Roundup WeatherMAX was not sacrificed when the herbicide was applied at the low spray volume of 2.5 gallons per care. Averaged across nozzles and spray volumes, barnyardgrass was controlled 96% 15 days after treatment; hemp sesbania, pitted morningglory, and prickly sida were controlled 74, 71, and 85%, respectively. By 37 days after treatment, barnyardgrass control averaged 98% and control of hemp sesbania and morningglory was at least 90%. 2
