LESSONS LEARNED Recycled content, and other materials credits
LESSONS LEARNED PVs Costs, funding mechanisms PPAs Federal goals Installation-specific goals Location-specific issues ECB New construction and major renovation projects beginning with the POM 2012 MILCON program Facility Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) projects beginning in FY10 Where design requirements do not substantially impact project execution. Marine Corps Community Service (MCCS) is enjoined to comply with this guidance where feasible. All new construction and major renovation projects requiring complete roof replacements will incorporate roof top solar thermal and/or photovoltaic systems.
LESSONS LEARNED RECs accessibility Relative cost / value Federal goals Navy and federal government abilities REC $
LESSONS LEARNED Specifications UF Guide Specs "L" designation for submittals To identify items required to be reviewed by the LEED Administrator To reinforce LEED Admin receipt Specific language with regards to updated monthly information. In UFGS providing updated data is somewhat buried within updating the LEED Notebook. Clarified references to include USGBC addenda up to a post date.
LESSONS LEARNED Specifications UF Guide Specs Language for contractor to use LEED online. UFGS may have been written for hardcopy templates. Statement that despite it being a metric project, LEED documentation is in imperial units. Designated a title to a specific Contractor's LEED personnel. "Contractor's LEED Coordinator" (CLC) Shall be named in the LEED Implementation Plan. List each credit that the Contractor has some role in, even if referenced to another location.
LESSONS LEARNED Owner signatories Minimum performance requirements LEED credit requirements For example: Minimum Performance Requirements EAp1: Fundamental Commissioning EQp2: Environmental Tobacco Smoke Control EQc7.2: Thermal Comfort Verification
LESSONS LEARNED Integrated design Owner AE team Contractor UFC The key to providing a sustainable facility is the integrated design process. The integrated design, or whole building, approach involves interaction between all issues, objectives and life-cycle requirements, as well as between the customer, user, designer, consultants, and contractor early on (in the project planning stage) and throughout the project development process. This fosters a multidisciplinary project team and allows them to develop creative solutions that yield multiple benefits.
