13 2 Joint Research Units with CNRS The first and still existing one is SVI (Surface du Verre et Interfaces) Created in 1990 Located in the Aubervilliers (Paris) Research Center Attached to the CNRS Institute of Physics ~25 people: 3 CNRS researchers, 7 SG researchers, 1 CNRS engineer, 3 SG engineers, 11 PhDs and PDFs Scientific themes: Surfaces and functionalization Heterogeneous reactive materials The second Joint Research Unit is LSFC (Ceramic Synthesis and Functionalization Lab) Created in 2008 Located in the Cavaillon Research Center (CREE) Attached to the CNRS Institute of Chemistry 18 people: 2 CNRS researchers, 4 SG researchers, 4 SG engineers or technicians, 8 PhDs and PDFs Scientific themes: Generation of porosity at different scales Control of the microstructure of ceramic materials, in order to optimize their functional properties Understanding the interactions between the surface of the ionic-conducting ceramics and gaseous reactive species 14
