1 SECTION TOILET COMPARTMENTS PART 1 -GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY A This Section includes stock, manufactured toilet compartments. B. Types of toilet compartments include: 1. Solid plastic, homogenous color. C. Styles of toilet compartments include: 1. Floor-anchored, overhead-braced. D. Supports for attaching compartments to overhead structural system are specified in a Division 5 Section. E. Toilet accessories, such as toilet paper holders, grab bars, and purse shelves, are specified in another Division 10 Section. 1.2 SUBMITTALS A General: Submit the following in accordance with Conditions of Contract and Division 1 Specification Sections. B. Product data for materials, fabrication, and installation including catalog cuts of anchors, hardware, fastenings, and accessories. C. Shop drawings for fabrication and erection of toilet compartment assemblies not fully described by product drawings, templates, and instructions for installation of anchorage devices built into other work. D. Samples of full range of colors for each type of unit required. Submit 6-inch-square samples of each color and finish on same substrate to be used in work, for color verification after selections have been made. 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE A Field Measurements: Take field measurements prior to preparation of shop drawings and fabrication, where possible, to ensure proper fitting of work. However, allow for adjustments where taking of field measurements before fabrication might delay work. B. Coordination: Furnish inserts and anchorages which must be built into other work for installation of toilet compartments and related items. Coordinate delivery with other work to avoid delay. 2 PART 2- PRODUCTS 2.1 MANUFACTURERS A Available Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, manufacturers offering products which may be incorporated in the Work include, but are not limited to, the following: B. Manufacturer: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the following: 1. Solid Plastic - Polymer Resin: 2.2 MATERIALS a. Capitol Partitions, Inc. b. Sanatec Industries, Inc. c. Santana Products Co. d. Sanymetal Products Corp. A General: Provide materials which have been selected for surface flatness and smoothness. Exposed surfaces which exhibit pitting, seam marks, roller marks, stains, discolorations, telegraphing of core material, or other imperfections on finished units are not acceptable. B. Solid Plastic: High density, solid polymer resin with homogenous color throughout. Provide material not less than 1 inch thick with seamless construction with edges eased. C. Pilaster Shoes and Caps: ASTM A 167, Type 302/304 stainless steel, not less than 3 inches high, inch thick (20 gage), finished to match hardware. D. Stirrup Brackets: Manufacturer's standard design for attaching panels to walls and pilasters, either chromium-plated nonferrous cast alloy ("Zamac") or anodized aluminum. E. Hardware and Accessories: Manufacturer's standard design, heavy duty operating hardware and accessories of chromium-plated, nonferrous cast alloy ("Zamac"). F. Anchorages and Fasteners: Manufacturer's standard exposed fasteners of stainless steel, chromium-plated steel, or brass, finished to match hardware, with theft-resistanttype heads and nuts. For concealed anchors, use hot-dip galvanized, cadmium-plated, or other rust-resistant protective-coated steel. 2.3 FABRICATION: A General: Furnish standard doors, panels, screens, and pilasters fabricated for compartment system. Furnish units with cutouts, drilled holes, and internal reinforcement to receive partition-mounted hardware, accessories, and grab bars, as indicated. (CCC Lodge Restoration.0714) TOILET COMPARTMENTS

Door Dimensions: Unless otherwise indicated, furnish 24-inch-wide in-swinging doors for ordinary toilet stalls and 32-inch-wide (clear opening) out-swinging doors for stalls equipped for use by handicapped. C. Floor-and-Ceiling Anchored Compartments: Furnish galvanized steel anchorage devices complete with floor and ceiling closures. D. Floor-and-Ceiling Anchored Screens: Furnish pilasters and panels not less than 1 inch thick and of same construction and finish as toilet compartments. Furnish galvanized steel anchorage devices complete with threaded rods, lock washers, and leveling adjustment nuts at pilasters to permit structural connection to floor. Furnish shoe at pilaster to conceal anchorage. E. Hardware: Furnish hardware for each compartment to comply with ANSI A for handicapped accessibility and as follows: 2.4 FINISH 1. Hinges: Cutout inset type, adjustable to hold door open at any angle up to 90 degrees. Provide gravity type, spring-action cam type, or concealed torsion rod type to suit manufacturer's standards. 2. Latch and Keeper: Recessed latch unit, designed for emergency access, with combination rubber-faced door strike and keeper. 3. Coat Hook: Manufacturer's standard unit, combination hook and rubber-tipped bumper, sized to prevent door hitting mounted accessories. 4. Door Pull: Manufacturer's standard unit for out-swinging doors. Provide pulls on both faces of handicapped compartment doors. A. Color: One of manufacturer's standard colors in each room, as indicated or, if not indicated, as selected by Architect. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION A. General: Comply with manufacturer's recommended procedures and installation sequence. Install compartment units rigid, straight, plumb, and level. Provide clearances of not more than 1/2 inch between pilasters and panels, and not more than 1 inch between panels and walls. Secure panels to walls with not less than two stirrup brackets attached near top and bottom of panel. Locate wall brackets so that holes for wall anchorages occur in masonry or tile joints. Secure panels to pilasters with not less than two stirrup brackets located to align with stirrup brackets at wall. Secure panels in position with manufacturer's recommended anchoring devices. B. Floor-Supported Compartments: Set pilaster units with anchorages having not less than 2 inches penetration into structural floor, unless otherwise recommended by partition manufacturer. 4 and adjust so that tops of doors are level with tops of pilasters when doors are in closed position. C. Screens: Attach with anchoring devices as recommended by manufacturer to suit supporting structure. Set units to provide support and to resist lateral impact. 3.2 ADJUST AND CLEAN A Hardware Adjustment: Adjust and lubricate hardware for proper operation. Set hinges on in-swinging doors to hold open approximately 30 degrees from closed position when unlatched. Set hinges on out-swinging doors (and entrance swing doors) to return to fully closed position. B. Clean exposed surfaces of partition systems using materials and methods recommended by manufacturer, and provide protection as necessary to prevent damage during remainder of construction period. Warm-Air Dryers C. Mirror Units are specified elsewhere in Division QUALITY ASSURANCE: A. Inserts and Anchorages: Furnish inserts and anchoring devices which must be set in concrete or built into masonry; coordinate delivery with other work to avoid delay. B. Accessory Locations: Coordinate accessory locations with other work to avoid interference and to assure proper operation and service of accessory units. C. 6 PART 2- PRODUCTS 2.1 MATERIALS: A Stainless Steel: ASTM A 666, Type 304 with polished No. 4 finish, 22 gage minimum, unless otherwise indicated. B. Sheet Steel: ASTM A 1008/ A 1008M, Designation CS (cold rolled, commercial steel). Surface preparation and metal pretreatment as required for applied finish. C. Baked Enamel Finish: Factory-applied, gloss white, baked acrylic enamel coating. D. Mirror Glass: ASTM C 1503, Mirror Glazing Quality, clear glass mirrors, nominal 6.0 mm thick. E. Fasteners: Screws, bolts, and other devices of same material as accessory unit or of galvanized steel where concealed. 2.2 FABRICATION: A General: Stamped names or labels on exposed faces of toilet accessory units are not permitted, except where otherwise indicated. Wherever locks are required for a particular type of toilet accessory, provide same keying throughout project. Furnish two keys for each lock. B. Surface-Mounted Toilet Accessories, General: Except where otherwise indicated, fabricate units with tight seams and joints, exposed edges rolled. Hang doors or access panels with continuous piano hinge or minimum of two 1-1/2" pin hinges of same metal as unit cabinet. Provide concealed anchorage wherever possible. C. Recessed Toilet Accessories, General: Except where otherwise indicated, fabricate units of all welded construction, without mitered corners. Hang doors or access panels with fulllength stainless steel piano hinge. Provide anchorage which is fully concealed when unit is closed. D. Grab Bars: 1, Stainless Steel Type: Provide grab bars with wall thickness not less than 18 gage and conforming to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and as follows: a. Mounting: Concealed, manufacturer's standard flanges and anchorages. b. Gripping Surfaces: Smooth, polished finish. c. Size: Outside diameter of 1 1/4". d. Length: Per plans. e. 7 E. Toilet Tissue Dispensers: 1. Single-Roll Type: Size to accommodate core tissue to 5" diameter, with metal paper roller equipped with heavy-duty internal spring and finished to match base unit. Shower Curtain Rods, Heavy Duty: 1 1 // o.d., 18 gage stainless steel, satin finish; furnish 3" o.d. minimum 20 gage stainless steel flanges with satin finish, designed for exposed fasteners. Double Robe Hook: Heavy-duty finished stainless steel double prong robe hook; rectangular wall bracket with backplate for concealed mounting. Equal to #B7672 by Bob rick. K. Baby Changing Station: 1, Horizontal Baby Changing: Stainless steel wall mounted horizontal design of 16 gage, 304 stainless steel with reinforced, full-length steel on steel hinges. Operation is a hidden pneumatic gas spring mechanism for safe open/close motion integral, built-in liner dispenser for use with 3-ply chemical free biodegradable 13" x 18" sanitary liners. 8 PART 3- EXECUTION 3.1 INSPECTION: d. Cover Material and Finish: Steel, white enamel finish. e. Electrical Requirements: 115 V, 13 A, 1500 W. A. Installer must examine substrates, previously installed inserts and anchorages necessary to mounting of toilet accessories, and other conditions under which installation is to occur, and must notify Contractor in writing of conditions detrimental to proper and timely completion of work. do not proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in manner acceptable to Installer. 3.2 INSTALLATION: A. Install toilet accessory units in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, using fasteners which are appropriate to substrate and recommended by manufacturer of unit Install units plumb and level, firmly anchored in locations indicated. 3.3 ADJUST AND CLEAN: A. Adjust toilet accessories for proper operation and verify that mechanisms function smoothly. B. Clean and polish all exposed surfaces after removing protective coatings. 3.4 TOILET ACCESSORIES SCHEDULE: At Room #003. provide: Grab bars as shown. Two toilet tissue dispenser. PART 2- PRODUCTS 2.1 MATERIALS: A Mirror Glass: 1/4" thick, Type I, Class I, Quality q2, conforming to FS DD-G-451, with silvering, copper coating, and protective organic coating complying with FS DD-M B. 12 2.2 FABRICATION: A General: 1. Edge Protection: Fabricate frames for glass mirrors to accommodate wood, felt, plastic, or other glass edge protection material. 2. Backing: Provide mirror backing and support system which will permit rigid, tamperproof glass installation and prevent accumulation of moisture, as follows: a. Air space backing provided by resilient pads or grommets attached to hanger assembly. 3. Hangers: Provide system of mounting mirror units which will permit rigid, tamperproof and theftproof installation, as follows: a. Heavy-duty wall brackets of galvanized steel, equipped with concealed locking devices requiring special tool to remove. 4. Stainless Steel Framed Mirrors: PART 3 -EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION: a. Standard Type: Fabricate frame with channel shapes of not less than 20 gage, with square corners carefully mitered to hairline joints and mechanically interlocked. A Secure mirrors to walls in tamperproof manner with special hangers, toggle bolts, or screws. Set units plumb, level, and square at locations indicted, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions for type of substrate involved. 3.2 ADJUST AND CLEAN: A Verify that adjustable tilting mirrors are properly installed and are operating smoothly. 13 SECTION PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS PART 1 -GENERAL 1.1 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: A Definition: "Portable fire extinguishers" includes units which can be hand-carried as opposed to those which are equipped with wheels or to fixed fire extinguishing systems, unless otherwise indicated. Type of products in this section include: 1. Fire extinguishers. 2. Accessories, including: 1. Fire extinguisher cabinets 1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE: A Provide portable fire extinguishers and accessories by one manufacturer, unless otherwise acceptable to Architect. 1. Manufacturers offering products to comply with the requirements include the following: a. Ansullncorporated b. J.L. Industries c. Larsen's Manufacturing Company d. Watrous, Inc. B. UL-Listed Products: Provide new portable fire extinguishers which are UL-Iisted and bear UL "Listing Mark" for type, rating, and classification of extinguisher indicated. 1.3 SUBMITTALS: A Product Data: Submit manufacturer's technical data and installation instructions for all portable fire extinguishers required. For fire extinguisher cabinets include roughing-in dimensions, and details showing mounting methods, relationships to surrounding construction, door hardware, cabinet type and materials, trim style and door construction, style and materials. Where color selection by Architect is required, include color charts showing full range of manufacturer's standard colors and designs available. PART 2- PRODUCTS 2.1 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: A General: Provide fire extinguishers for each extinguisher cabinet and other locations indicated, in colors and finishes selected by Architect from manufacturer's standard which comply with requirements of governing authorities. Abbreviations indicated below to identify extinguisher types relate to UL classification and ratings system and not, necessarily, to type and amount of extinguishing materials contained in extinguisher. B. Multi-Purpose Dry Chemical Type (4A-60BC-FE): UL-rated 4A: 60:B: C, 10 lb. nominal capacity, in enameled steel container, for Class A, Class B and Class C fires. 2.2 FIRE EXTINGUISHER CABINETS: A. General: Provide fire extinguisher cabinets where indicated, of suitable size for housing fire extinguishers of types and capacities indicated. B. Construction: Manufacturer's standard enameled steel box, with trim, frame, door and hardware to suit cabinet type, trim style, and door style indicated. Weld all joints and grind smooth. Miter and weld perimeter door frames. C. Cabinet Type: Suitable for mounting conditions indicated, of the following types: 1. Recessed: Cabinet box (tub) fully recessed in walls of sufficient depth to suit style of trim indicated. D. Trim Style: Fabricate trim in one piece with corners mitered, welded and ground smooth. 1. Exposed Trim: One-piece combination trim and perimeter door frame overlapping surrounding wall surface with exposed trim face and wall return at outer edge (backbend). a. Flat Trim: Square edges with backbend of 1/4" to 5/16". 2. Trim Metal: Of same metal as door. E. Door Material and Construction: Manufacturer's standard door construction, of material indicated, coordinated with cabinet types and trim styles selected. F. Enameled Steel: Manufacturer's standard flush, hollow steel door construction with tubular stiles and rails. G. Door Style: Manufacturer's standard design as indicated below and on drawing: Full-Glass Panel: DSA glass unless otherwise indicated. H. Door Hardware: Provide manufacturer's standard door operating hardware of proper type for cabinet type, trim style, and door material and style indicated. Provide either lever handle with cam action latch, or door pull, exposed or concealed, and friction latch. Provide concealed or continuous type hinge permitting door to open 180 degrees. I. Identification: Lettering complying with authorities having jurisdiction for letter style, size, spacing, and location. Locate as selected by Architect. 15 1. Identify fire extinguisher in fire-protection cabinet with the words "Fire Extinguisher." 2. Application Process: Pressure-sensitive vinyl letters. 3. Lettering Color: Black or as selected by the Architect. 4. Orientation: Vertical or as indicated by the Architect. 2.3 FACTORY FINISHING OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER CABINETS: A. General: Comply with NAAMM "Metal Finishes Manual" for finish designations and application recommendations except as otherwise indicated. Apply finishes in factory after products are assembled. Protect cabinets with plastic or paper covering, prior to shipment. B. Painted Finishes: C. Preparation: Clean surfaces of dirt, grease, and loose rust or mill scale. Apply finish to all surfaces of fabricated and assembled units, whether exposed or concealed when installed, except those surfaces specified to receive another finish. D. Factory-Primed Finish: Where painting after installation is indicated (not work of this section) apply manufacturer's standard primer suitable for paint coating specified in Division 9 section. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION: A. Install items included in this section in locations and at mounting heights indicated, or if not indicated, at heights to comply with applicable regulations of governing authorities. 1. Prepare recesses in walls for fire extinguisher cabinets as required by type and size of cabinet and style trim and to comply with manufacturer's instructions. 2. Securely fasten mounting brackets and fire extinguisher cabinets to structure, square and plumb, to comply with manufacturer's instructions. 3. Where exact location of surface-mounted cabinets and bracket mounted fire extinguishers is not indicated, locate as directed by Architect.
