2 Rebuilding Lives CELEBRATION GALA WHO: AMAR International is on a mission to rebuild lives in the Middle East. AMAR helps people in areas of conflict, civil disorder, and disruption by creating and sustaining professional services in medicine, public health, education, and the provision of basic needs. Working with an all-local staff on the ground in Iraq and Lebanon, AMAR delivers longterm, sustainable solutions that serve hundreds of thousands of internally displaced people and refugees every year. WHAT: The 4th Annual Rebuilding Lives Celebration Gala WHEN: Friday, April 28th, 2017 Doors Open at 6:00 PM WHERE: The Watergate Hotel 2650 Virginia Ave NW Washington, DC ATTIRE: Cocktail Attire Recommended ATTENDEES: Approximately 250 guests, including representatives from Middle Eastern and U.S. governments, global businesses leaders, and institutional partners from the World Bank, WHO, and UNESCO will be in attendance. WHY: The Middle East is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Since 2014, more than 3.3 million displaced Iraqis and millions of refugees from nearby countries have been forced to abandon their homes and livelihoods to flee conflict and ISIS violence. It could be years before these communities feel safe enough to return home and decades before they are able to rebuild. Meanwhile, access to healthcare, safe water, education, and employment is extremely limited. With the support of donors and sponsors like you, AMAR has invested millions of dollars in sustainable projects that are rebuilding lives throughout the Middle East. We consistently allocate more than 90% of our annual resources to essential programs in the field.
