8 Import Use Case: Missing Readings Action 1: Automatic Estimation Import Data Quality Assurance IEE fills all detected gaps with estimated readings, per Validation Set configuration. Action 2: Gap Fill Interrogation Import Data Quality Assurance With two-way capable meters, IEE will re-interrogate a configurable number of times in order to fill gaps.

9 Import Use Case: Prolonged Communication Failure 8.0 Reque st? Import Data Quality Assurance Service Order Initiation If after a configurable number of days no actual readings have been imported for an active meter send a service order request to the Service Order Management system.

10 Import Use Case: Banked Readings Both during AMI deployment and regular meter exchanges (where an AMI meter is set), readings data may be arrive for IEE to import before the service order has completed. If IEE does not recognize the meter identifier in the readings file, or the configuration in IEE does not match the readings provided, the readings will be banked. IEE will automatically attempt to import banked readings for a configurable number of days.

11 Import Use Case: Banked Readings 8.0 In a future release, IEE will be able to send an automatic notification of the failure to import readings for a given meter to an external system. Moving from monthly residential readings to automatic collection and billing from interval data does involve changes in ownership of certain data elements and processes. The MDM should help reduce this impact: CIS ownership of process should remain very much the same as it does today.
