Bhd. 20 Persiaran Bunga Tanjung1 Senawang Land Industrial Park Seremban Negri Sembilan Malaysia Test Method The test damper units are maintained at elevated temperatures of 250 C and subject to full opening and closing cycles at 15 minute intervals. At each cycle the blades must open and then close fully. The dampers must successfully operate under this regime for a period of 120 minutes. This is not a standard test method but it is accepted by Exova Warrington Certification as a test method which adequately demonstrates the operational ability of the damper units to perform the function for which they are designed. Certification Evidence Test Reports WF WF Sampling and Factory Production Control The TROX Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. factory where the damper units are manufactured has been subjected to an audit of the Factory Production Control procedures and found to be in accordance with the Exova Warrington Certification requirements. 3 Product Description CERTIFICATE No ME 5084 The TROX JFM dampers are un-insulated multi-blade steel damper assemblies for use in smoke control systems at exposure temperatures up to 250 ⁰C. The damper units comprise blades made from 1.2mm thick galvanised mild steel with 20mm diameter stainless steel blade stub shafts mounted in a galvanised steel frame of 2mm thickness. The dampers side seals seals are fabricated from stainless steel of 0.3mm thickness. The blades are nominally 162mm wide and a maximum of 1098mm continuous length and the blade leading edges have ceramic rope seals mounted within the tips. For damper widths which require effective blade length greater than 1098mm, the blades must be installed in two banks with a central stiffener as shown in Figure 1. The blades are operated by means of an RCEL Vac electric actuator protected by a BETA thermal insulated silicone rubber jacket with a wall thickness of nominally 50mm. The damper units are fixed to the supporting construction by means of a steel perimeter fixing angle. Figures 1 to 6 show the components and design of a typical damper unit along with the specified components. Scope of Approval The TROX JFM dampers are approved for exposure to hot gas temperatures of up to 250⁰C for periods of up to 120 minutes and are capable of performing full opening/closing cycles at intervals of 15 minutes during this exposure regime. The scope of the approval includes dampers installed in horizontal and vertical orientations. The approval is subject to the parameters/limits listed in Table1.
