This information was released to Berridge Manufacturing for the purpose of this Approval program. Calorimeter testing for the ACFoam-II was waived due to satisfactory performance of a more critical construction in Project I.D.# & , sponsored by Atlas Roofing Corp and released to Berridge Manufacturing for the purpose of this Approval program. Approval Requirement Wind Uplift Testing Internal Fire Testing ASTM E108 Testing Hail Testing Foot Traffic Testing Included/Waived Included Waived completed by insulation manufacturers see above Included in this program Waived see Project ID# 2Y5A1.AM Waived see Project ID# 2Y5A1.AM All test samples were produced under the FM Approvals Surveillance Audit program as indicated by FM Approvals labels. All samples were considered to be representative of standard production and were examined and tested as indicated below All components incorporated into test samples were selected by FM Approvals personnel. Test samples were prepared by, or under the supervision of, FM Approvals personnel All data is on file at FM Approvals under Project I.D. # along with other documents and correspondence applicable to this program. 3.2 FM Approvals 12x24 ft (3.7x7.3 m) Simulated Wind Uplift Pressure Tests Tests were conducted using the FM Approvals Uplift Pressure Test Apparatus to evaluate the ability of the above deck components of the roofing system to resist a minimum simulated wind uplift pressure of 60 psf (2.9 kpa) without failure of the assemblies The simulated wind uplift pressure tests utilized a 24 ft. (7.3 m) long by 12 ft. (3.7 m) wide by 2 in. (51 mm) deep steel pressure vessel arranged to apply air pressure at pre-established standard rates to the underside of the test sample which formed the top of the pressure vessel. The vessel was pressurized with compressed air A net pressure of 30 psf (1.4 kpa) was applied to each test sample and maintained for 1 minute before the net pressure was reduced to 0 psf (0 kpa) and the test panels were inspected. The pressure was increased to 45 psf (2.2 kpa) and held for 1 minute, reduced to 0 psf (0 kpa) and the test panels were inspected. The pressure was increased in increments of 15 psf (0.7 kpa), held at each increment for 1 minute, reduced to 0 psf (kpa) and the test panels were inspected after each increment until failure occurred Two 12 by 24 ft. (3.7 by 7.3 m) test samples were prepared. The components, sequence of installation and test results were as follows: Sample #1 SSR: Insulation: Zee-Lock Double Lock and Zee-Rib Clips at a rate of 18 in (457 mm) o.c. with Triangle Concealer Fasteners. Seams were crimped using seamer tool. two layers of 3.0 in (76 mm) thick H-Shield and one layer of 0.5 in (13 mm) FM Page 3 of 7
4 Deck: Approved polyisocyanurate insulation, loose laid (this layer added to meet test frame height only) Steel deck, FM Approved 22 ga. Grade 33 Steel Deck secured to the ¼ in (6 mm) thick steel deck supports spaced 6 ft (1.8 m) o.c. with one, Traxx/5 fasteners spaced 6 in. (152 mm) o.c.. The deck side laps secured with one ICH Traxx/1 fastener spaced 24 in (610 mm) o.c. Perimeter securements spaced 6 in. (152 mm) o.c. along the 24 ft (7.3 m) length and 6 in. (152 mm) o.c. along the 12 ft (3.7 m) length using Traxx/5 fasteners Test results #1: The sample met the 120 psf (5.7 kpa) minimum FM Approvals requirement for Class windstorm classification. The sample failed on the increase to the next pressure level. The failure mode was fastener pull out from the deck. Sample #2 SSR: Insulation: Deck: Zee-Lock Double Lock and Zee-Rib Clips at a rate of 12 in (305 mm) o.c. with Triangle Concealer Fasteners. Seams were crimped using seamer tool. two layers of 3.0 in (76 mm) thick H-Shield and one layer of 0.5 in (13 mm) FM Approved polyisocyanurate insulation, loose laid (this layer added to meet test frame height only) Steel deck, FM Approved 22 ga. Grade 33 Steel Deck secured to the ¼ in (6 mm) thick steel deck supports spaced 6 ft (1.8 m) o.c. with one, Traxx/5 fasteners spaced 6 in. (152 mm) o.c.. The deck side laps secured with one ICH Traxx/1 fastener spaced 24 in (610 mm) o.c. Perimeter securements spaced 6 in. (152 mm) o.c. along the 24 ft (7.3 m) length and 6 in. (152 mm) o.c. along the 12 ft (3.7 m) length using Traxx/5 fasteners Test results #2: The sample met the 150 psf (7.2 kpa) minimum FM Approvals requirement for Class windstorm classification. The sample failed after 53 seconds at the next pressure level. The failure mode was fastener pull out from the deck. 3.3 ASTM E108 Spread of Flame Tests The fire tests from above the roof cover were conducted in accordance with ASTM E Spread of Flame Tests Sample size was 3-1/3 by 8 ft (1.0 by 2.4 m) The wind velocity over the top of the standard panel was adjusted to 12±0.5 mph (5.3±0.2 m/s) Flame exposure: The flame was adjusted to 1400±50 o F (760±28 o C) for Class A tests. The flame temperature was measured by a thermocouple located 1 in (25.4 mm) above the surface of the standard panel and 1/2 in (13 mm) toward the flame source from the lower edge of the standard panel. The flame was applied to each test panel for 10 minutes During and after the application of the flame, each panel was observed for the distance of maximum flame spread, glowing brands and other damage Three 3-1/3 by 8 ft (1.0 by 2.4 m) test samples were prepared. The components and sequence of installation were as follows: Page 4 of 7

VIII DOCUMENTATION No new audit documents were created as a results of this Approval program. IX CONCLUSIONS 9.1 The results from this and previous programs sponsored by Berridge Manufacturing Company indicate that the ZEE-Lock Double Lock metal panel roof system over FM Approved Class 1 steel deck meets the FM Approval requirements of the FM 4471 Approval Standard as outlined below SSR: Zee-Lock Double Lock and Zee-Rib Clips at a rate of 18 in (457 mm) o.c. with Triangle Concealer Fasteners Insulation: Optional Minimum 1.5 in (38 mm) thick H-Shield or ACFoam-II, loose laid Deck: Steel deck, FM Approved minimum 22 ga. Steel Deck secured to the ¼ in (6 mm) thick steel deck supports spaced maximum 6 ft (1.8 m) o.c. with one, Traxx/5 fasteners spaced 6 in. (152 mm) o.c.. The deck side laps secured with one ICH Traxx/1 fastener spaced 24 in (610 mm) o.c. Perimeter securements spaced 6 in. (152 mm) o.c. along the 24 ft (7.3 m) length and 6 in. (152 mm) o.c. along the 12 ft (3.7 m) length using Traxx/5 fasteners ASTM E108: Meets Class 5 in 12 slope Wind: Meets Class SSR: Zee-Lock Double Lock and Zee-Rib Clips at a rate of 12 in (305 mm) o.c. with Triangle Concealer Fasteners Insulation: same as Insulation in Deck: same as deck in ASTM E108: Meets Class 5 in 12 slope Page 6 of 7
7 Wind: Meets Class Consult Roofnav for hail ratings and details of all assemblies. 9.3 Tests show that the tested roof constructions in and of themselves would not create a need for automatic sprinklers. 9.4 Since a duly signed Master Agreement is on file for this customer, Approval is effective as of the date of this report. 9.5 Continued Approval will depend upon satisfactory field experience and periodic Facilities and Procedures Audits.
