2 A MESSAGE FROM ANDREW Welcome to the spring edition of InSights. In this edition we look at LGM s services and capabilities, showcasing some of our recent shutdowns For the past 8 years LGM Industries has taken pride in being a solution-driven self managed provider of structural, mechanical and piping services (SMP), specialising in fixed plant maintenance and capital projects for the resource and energy sectors in the southwest of WA. PROJECT MANAGEMENT LGM s team of skilled project managers and supervisors enjoy working with our clients and take the time to understand the scope of works, the type of services required, what our client wants to achieve and why. We then problem solve how best to achieve a safe, high quality and cost effective outcome to the allocated time frame. FABRICATION LGM s fabrication division work from a fully equipped workshop based at our head office in Bunbury WA. Our highly skilled trades people specialise in heavy metal fabrication and welding of carbon steel, stainless steels and a variety of exotic materials. The workshop supports the activities of the construction and maintenance divisions and regularly runs 24/7 to support our clients shutdown and project schedules. CONSTRUCTION LGM Industries has been involved with many of WA s major resource SMP projects. The company delivers a comprehensive construction service including procurement, fabrication, erection, installation and commissioning of fixed plant and equipment. It is our project management skills, construction expertise and cost effective fixed price solutions that have earnt us repeat business from our valued clients. MAINTENANCE LGM Industries delivers a comprehensive range of asset and industrial maintenance services, including shutdown planning and execution, labour hire services and long term contracting. Our focus is to ensure that our clients fixed plant and equipment operates efficiently to maximise its through-put. Our highly skilled mechanical trades people are work ready with the appropriate training, tickets and tooling required to completed the job to the required standard and specification. The LGM team have carried out the work onsite professionally, without incident and have represented LGM well. The level of co-operation and the proactive approach to some challenging access issues which were resolved through clear positive communication between the Iluka and LGM supervisors. A big thank you for the great effort to all those involved on the SD2 burner chamber and dryer reline work. LGM completed the project including the extra repair work to the roof ahead of schedule. There were no incidents or safety issues, which is a great effort considering the long hours and the added extra of working under a confined space permit system for the duration of the project. 3 PROJECT PROFILES SPRAY DRYER RELINE Cristal Pigment LGM were engaged by Cristal to reline the internal walls of the SD2 vessel with 4m x 2m sections of 2205 duplex stainless steel plates to extend the service life of the vessel. The work was carried out with crews working 24 hours per day inside a confined space. The roof of the vessel was enlarged to allow access of the liner plates and a large internal scaffold was built for work crews to fit and weld out the liners. The project presented numerous challenges including a tight time frame and access issues for both the large liner plates and work crews; however through detailed planning and the commitment of the LGM work crews, the project was completed incident free, one day ahead of schedule and under budget. D428 TANK RELINE Cristal Pigment LGM were contracted by Cristal Pigment to project manage and supervise the refurbishment of the D428 tank during its annual outage. The tank stands 3.3 metres in diameter by 3.6 metres high and required confined space entry to complete the works. The scope of works included: Removal of mechanicals, agitator and lid Modification of steel, PVC and fibreglass piping High pressure water blast to remove existing rubber lining Sandblasting and fibreglass lining of the tank walls Reinstatement of the tank lid, agitator and platform. The works were conducted 24 hours per day and despite challenges with the removal of the existing rubber the tank was returned to service as scheduled with all works completed incident free.

4 PROJECT PROFILES BURNER CHAMBER REPLACMENT Cristal Pigment A new 253-Ma stainless burner chamber was fabricated and welded in LGM s workshop facilities along with the supply of fibrefrax insulation panels and liner plates. The onsite scope of works included the removal of the existing 1.5 metre square burner chamber, installation of the newly fabricated duct in two halves and installation of the fibrefrax insulation panels and liner plates. The installation scope presented multiple challenges due to the works being conducted in a constricted area of the plant, at height, and in a confined space. The installation works were conducted during Cristal s annual shutdown with LGM crews working around the clock to complete the works. CONVEYOR REPLACEMENT FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION South32 Worsley Alumina LGM were contracted to fabricate, surface treat and replace all structural components on approximately 100 metres of the coal reclaim conveyor. This included 60 off leg sub-assemblies, 60 off base plates, 30 off cross member sub-assemblies and 30 sets of stringers. The conveyor was required to be operational during maintenance works therefore coordination and careful planning between LGM and the client was required to maximise efficiency. LGM completed this work on time, on budget and without any issues despite the challenging working conditions.

5 PROJECT PROFILES CONVEYOR INSTALLATION MAINTENANCE Laminex Group Laminex Group are a major supplier of particle board, Australia wide. Two of the chain feed conveyors required new stainless steel outer casings. The purpose of the casings is to get a longer working life out of the conveyors reducing down time for maintenance shutdowns. LGM were engaged to install the new stainless steel casings plus refurbishment of bearings, wear strips, chains and changing out the rotary valve. Due to the location of the conveyors the installation proved to be challenging. Despite this, the works were completed on schedule with outstanding performance and professionalism by the LGM team. FIXED PLANT MAINTENACE Iluka Resources Iluka Resources conducted an eight day shutdown in June 2017 to undertake planned maintenance activities to the North Capel SR02 Plant. LGM supplied 15 tradesman to complete a major rebuild of the redlar chain conveyor, major plate repairs to the road hopper, set up and removal of the belt filter and the installation of a new blower duct compensating joint. All work was carried out in a safe productive manner with no incidents and the plant restarted on schedule.
