One of the main factors was the client s requirement for light to transfer between rooms with as much sound attenuation as possible. Consequently, a solid panel system was out of the question. 5 sonata 5 Intelligent design & on-site co-ordination were essential in order to complete this demanding installation. case study sonata Creatif s challenge was to interpret the designer s specification for a clean, sleek and above all flexible environment in this dark and dingy basement. The second challenge was physically getting the panels to the basement. We solved that by using the unique Solo Sonata system. The moving wall panels were sent to site in kit form which enabled the materials to be carried to the basement without damage, and ensured the operatives were carrying weights within health and safety limits. Basements are always difficult spaces, but we ve proved that difficult areas are where Creatif excel. 6 6 solo Just once in a while, one of those no expense spared jobs comes along. case study solo For this prestigious conference centre on the banks of the Thames, Creatif were commissioned to provide moving wall systems that complemented the quality of the facilities in every respect. We supplied moving wall panels in quartercut maple veneer plus matching bespoke joinery items and door sets to create a seamless aesthetic moving wall solution. 7 zig zag 7 A combination of Solo and Zig Zag moving walls the ultimate pair when it came to creating total flexibility. zag Here we had a large area that needed to be split into two meeting rooms, but that s not all - the client envisaged an open plan area, and required the front elevation of their meeting rooms to be opened up to create a casual meeting area. The issue of no head support was overcome by using Creatif s floor supported sliding, folding partition system - Zig Zag. With a pass door as standard, this was the ideal solution to meet our client s specification. Furthermore, our Solo operable wall system - with its individual top hung, high acoustic panels - was the perfect answer to creating the sub-division between the two rooms. A moving wall in such a situation must not only be reliable and easy to operate, but must incorporate a number of features to reduce or attenuate the transfer of sound. Sound reduction figures for moving walls are ascertained by testing in laboratory conditions to BS / ISO / EN ,1995. Measurements are taken across a band of sound frequencies, and the mean results expressed as db, RwdB or simply Rw. If after extended periods of use some lubrication and adjustment of moving parts is needed, Creatif offer a maintenance service. Panel surfaces and tracks should be wiped over with a non-abrasive cleaner; we suggest warm, soapy water only and a lint-free cloth. 34 34 info operation & maintenance operating instructions for solo & sonata systems Remove the panels from the stack area one by one. To do this, hold the panels with both hands at shoulder height and upright so they can be easily guided through the track corners. If the track is straight the panels can be moved with one hand. Take care that the panels NEVER collide harshly. This causes costly profile damage. Now set up the first panel and place it properly against the wall moulding. This is done by pushing with one hand against the side of the panels at shoulder height. If necessary, use your foot to keep the panels in place at the bottom. Finally, turn the top and bottom mechanical seals outwards by means of the handle. Repeat this procedure to all other panels, taking care to align the panels across the opening. general maintenance & cleaning The Solo acoustic operable wall requires very little attention, with the obvious exception of keeping the track free of dirt and objects. guarantees All materials were supplied by, or on behalf, of Creatif Architectural Products and manufactured in a European factory. All materials are guaranteed for 12 months from date of installation with the exception of component failure caused by misuse and neglect. The last panel is the telescopic panel. This panel has one operating hole on its face. Slide this panel, with care, to its position and turn the handle towards the jamb. The telescopic sleeve will expand in the width and the top and bottom seals in height sealing the partition. The operable wall is now completely closed.
