9 FINDING More than 300 illegal dumping spots were identified around Kuala Lumpur and 80% of them constitute construction waste PPSPPA WPKL %
10 ACT 672: SOLID WASTE AND PUBLIC CLEANSING MANAGEMENT 2007 The aim is to provide for and regulate the management of controlled solid waste and public cleansing for the purpose of maintaining proper sanitation and matters incidental thereto. Controlled solid waste: Commercial solid waste Construction solid waste Household solid waste Industrial solid waste Institutional solid waste Imported solid waste Public solid waste Solid waste that may be prescribed from time to time
11 DEFINITION OF CONSTRUCTION WASTE Construction solid waste is any solid waste resulting from renovation, new construction and demolition, including development work, provision, repair or alteration as described in Section of the Act. 14 Generation ( S:101) Waste generator can be instructed (Minister Gazette) ; + to reduce the waste generation in any manner and method, + to use environmental friendly material, + to use specified amount of recycled materials for specified product + to limit the generation, import, use discharge or disposal of specified products or materials;... and several others requirement. Fails to comply with the order commits an offense to a fine not exceeding 10 or imprisonment not exceeding six months.
