19 WHY ISO Using energy efficiently helps organizations save money as well as helping to conserve resources and tackle climate change. ISO supports organizations in all sectors to use energy more efficiently, through the development of an energy management system (EnMS). 2. ISO 50001:2011 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to: A. Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy B. Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy C. Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use D. Measure the results E. Review how well the policy works, and F. Continually improve energy management. 3. 23 Requirements of Sustainability Biomass does not come from areas, which had after the following status: Forest land Areas designated by law or by the relevant competent authority to serve the purpose of nature protection Grassland with high biological diversity Areas with high stocks of carbon Products from Sustainable agriculture (Cross compliance in EU or Documentation of further sustainable production(soil, water, air, food prices, land use rights) in other countries) or from bio waste Evidence of traceability and mass balance GHG savings Minimum of 35%(2017: 50%; 2018: 60%) Social standards out of EU 18/11/2014 Test 23
