It is anticipated that growth will continue in 2017 at a similar or faster pace depending on how many new companies select Ireland as their base for their post Brexit home. Potentially exciting times on the horizon within financial services due to Brexit. The accountancy job market remained healthy during 2016 with modest growth experienced across the various sub sectors including banking, insurance and investment funds. Whilst there is no longer multiple new financial services companies entering the market compared to a decade ago, many of the large domestic and international employers within the financial services sector added additional headcount to their Irish operations. This was in addition to a higher degree of staff turnover, resulting in more opportunities for jobseekers could potentially be a strong year when it comes to growth within the financial services accountancy job market.
