2 COURSE DURATION ESTIMATED TIME DATE COST R 12 weeks (90 hrs) 8 hours per week Starting 1 August R What is the course about? The Fundamentals of Risk Management programme provides participants with an understanding of risk in an organisation and its alignment with strategy and planning processes. The training includes governance requirements, risk processes and methodologies, continual improvement of risk, and a detailed look at risk enablers. The programme provides practical guidance for the application of methodologies for undertaking the required risk activities such as risk assessments, control assessments and risk reporting. It contains a mix of theoretical and practical components to ensure development and practice of risk skills. MEET YOUR PROGRAMME Facilitator Vanessa Thurtwell (BA Honours: Environmental Management) She has 14 years of experience in risk, primarily enterprise and operational risk, and graduated in 2000 with a BA Honours in Environmental Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. This programme is aimed at a range of participants, including those pursuing a career in risk, and newly appointed risk champions, risk managers and risk officers. Those in positions of leadership in organisations will also benefit as they are required to oversee risk.
