JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Accomplish the plans, goals, and objectives established for the position; provide support for department personnel through ancillary claim processing; and provide customer service. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Recovery Representative reports directly to the Claims Vice President. There are no positions reporting directly to the Recovery Representative. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Required: Preferred: High school diploma or its equivalent; completion of INS 21 and Ethics 311 required within six months of employment or transfer; advancement to Senior position requires AIC, SCLA, or CPCU designation. Associate s or Bachelor s Degree Licensing/Registration/Certification: Required: Valid driver s license with acceptable driving record; Texas adjuster s license types 02 and 04. Preferred: Notary Public Commission Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Must have thorough knowledge of claims systems and related software and must be computer literate. Must possess communication skills commensurate with responsibilities including both verbal and written; effective human relation skills; excellent telephone skills and manners; ability

Physical: Body Positions: Sitting or standing in office. Ability to spend time speaking to agents, insureds, and third parties on the telephone and working on the computer. Body Movements: Must have physical dexterity to move through office and talk on the telephone while operating the computer. Body Senses: Must have full use of eyes, ears, and speech for communications with customers and management. Mental Requirements: Mathematics: Ability to use calculator to work with estimates, payments, and recoveries. Language: Must be able to communicate in English. Communications must be effective in both the verbal and written modes, interact with customers and business associates. Effectively present information and respond to questions from agents, management, and customers. Computer: Ability to work in a Windows or DOS based environment, communicate via , research the Internet, learn industry software and resolve software/hardware problems. Working Conditions: Primarily an office setting, but does require occasional travel to adjusters offices, corporate seminars, regional meetings, agency visits, training classes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Duties and Tasks: Direct all salvage claims to conclusion: Document the confirmation/coordination of salvage pickup Obtain the necessary paperwork for converting titles to HPFM/HPCIC Ensure that salvage will be sold within 90 days of receipt of all documents to salvage vendor Coordinate the bi-annual sale of personal property salvage Verify National Motor Vehicle Titling Information system compliance
3 Page 3 01/01/2013 Monitor salvage vendor reports Direct all subrogation claims to conclusion: Pursue responsible party for reimbursement Monitor monthly payment plans Direct all restitution claims to conclusion: Communicate with law enforcement Obtain recovered property Monitor monthly payment plans Coordinate bi-annual sale of restitution salvage Handle all tax notices: Communicate with taxing entity Verify ownership of property Submit tax payments Participate in other duties as assigned: Execute projects Assist in testing of new programs and upgrades to current systems. Provide prompt professional customer service by returning phone call with (2) two hours of notification. Provide assistance to Claims Representatives as needed: Review Diary Assign claims to independent vendors Review vendor reports. Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by Vice President, verbally or in writing, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers during peak periods of business. Additional duties may be assigned either on a temporary or permanent basis to an individual functioning in this position. The additional duties will be performed along with those addressed in this description.
