4 SCDC Job Description Job Title: Reports To: Location: Administrator Internal Service Manager/Head of Programmes - Finance SCDC Last updated: 19 Feb 2014 Job Purpose Qualifications and Experience Dimensions Main Responsibilities
5 Supporting best practice in community development Planning and Organising SCDC delivery staff set the administrator tasks on a regular basis. This work is dealt with by prioritising the most important tasks first of all. Work is normally planned on a weekly basis, although this can change to a daily basis as and when required. Some tasks are planned as a one-off, for example, if one of the delivery staff has an event coming up in a few weeks, they will be asked to let the administrator know what administrative support is needed for it. Decision Making The administrator decides upon ordering stationery and goods for the office. It is also the role of the post-holder to decide what kind of suppliers are used for our goods, office supplies, etc. The administrator also contributes to decision-making in SCDC in the form of proposing venues to staff for various events and regularly contributing to SCDC team meetings. Internal and External Relationships Internal - delivery staff and senior management. External- service users, CHEX network, Health Issues in the Community tutors, office suppliers and SCDC associates. Knowledge and Skills Specific Knowledge and Skills Required include: Experience of using the Microsoft Office Suite Experience of using Sage accounts package Good administrative skills Good communication skills Experience of the voluntary/charitable sector would be useful A basic knowledge of finance Being highly organised, confidential, flexible and reliable at all times Job Context and Special Features On a weekly basis the balance between financial administration and general administration can vary. The post holder will be required to undertake any other duties falling within the scope of the post.
