2 WHAT IS EAP? The EAP is a confidential short-term, counselling service to assist employees with work related or personal issues impacting on their performance. Employees attend EAP services on a voluntary basis. They may either be self-referred or recommended to the service by a leader. These confidential services are also available to all leaders (superintendents/managers) to assist them in addressing their own issues that could be impacting on their quality of work or personal relationships. ASSURE OFFERS TAILOR-MADE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS THAT:» ASSIST PEOPLE EXPERIENCING ISSUES SUCH AS WORK STRESS, TEAM CONFLICT, RELATIONSHIP ISSUES OR DEPRESSION.» EMPOWER ALREADY PRODUCTIVE AND EFFECTIVE PEOPLE TO ACHIEVE EVEN MORE. 2

3 Our EAP Services CONFIDENTIAL SOLUTION FOCUSED COUNSELLING (EAP COUNSELLING) This service provides confidential short-term support to employees and their immediate families (where applicable) to assist in addressing work or personal concerns. EAP Counselling provides individuals with solution focused, evidence based strategies and support to improve or maintain wellbeing. This expert service can be accessed via phone, Skype or face-to-face. 24/7 EMERGENCY PHONE SUPPORT A professional and timely crisis support service delivered by phone via our dedicated 1800 freecall number. This confidential service is operational 24/7, 365 days per year and is available to employees, their family members (where applicable) and leaders. This specialist service provides short-term support options for callers presenting with urgent and crisis issues. EXTENDED PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT SERVICES Psychologists, where clinically appropriate, can request additional EAP sessions for a client already accessing EAP support. These sessions can be requested at the psychologists discretion at any one time for all continuing presenting concerns. Such requests are typically submitted where the Psychologist believes additional sessions will assist in the full resolution of this concern. FINANCIAL COACHING- INTRODUCTORY This phone based service is delivered by a fully qualified Financial Coach. Delivered through one session, the coach works closely with the client to provide tailored suggestions and solutions based on the client s financial circumstance and need. FINANCIAL COACHING- COMPREHENSIVE This service, delivered via phone, provides clients with up to four tailored step-by-step coaching sessions. By working with a financial coach, clients are able to to fully understand their own financial situation, understand the options and solutions, decide upon an appropriate and realistic course of action and implement that action to create positive change in their circumstance. *LEGAL ADVICE- INTRODUCTORY This introductory one session service provides brief legal advice to assist in understanding the client s presenting issue, parties and possible avenues available to manage a concern. This service is delivered via phone and includes support avenues such as relevant court or government websites for the management of documents, fees and processes. NUTRITION/DIETARY COACHING- INTRODUCTORY Clients can engage over the phone with a fully qualified dietician for one session to obtain guidance for a range of conditions, including weight management, sports nutrition, allergies, paediatrics and eating disorders. * Note: For perceived conflict of interest reasons, this service is not available for advice relating to any dispute a client has in relation to their employer. 3

4 NUTRITION/DIETARY COACHING - COMPREHENSIVE Clients can access this phone based service for up to four sessions. Working with a fully qualified nutritionist, clients develop a truly tailored plan to support their desired dietary and lifestyle changes. WELLBEING COACHING (1800MYBEST) This service assists individuals to focus on setting and reaching personal and professional goals. The goal is to increase an individual s wellbeing and life satisfaction by focussing on the five building blocks of wellbeing: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment. Appointments available via phone, Skype or face-to-face consultation. I-CARE (INDIGENOUS CULTURAL ASSIST AND RESPONSE FOR EMPLOYEES) A tailored phone based program accessed via a dedicated freecall ICARE number delivering emotional and practical support to indigenous employees and their leaders. E-COUNSELLING Accessed through the Assure Programs website, this e-service is available for employees and leaders seeking brief support and recommendations regarding their personal or work experiences. INTERNATIONAL EAP Recognising that employees are no longer based in the same office day in and day out, this service is designed to ensure employees have EAP support no matter where in the world they are. Offered as phone or Skype based confidential counselling, this service can be provided to offshore employees. EAP SERVICES FOR LEADERS MANAGER SUPPORT PROGRAM (MSP) This confidential service offers leaders an alternative contact point to discuss and problem solve difficult or complex people matters. The MSP is designed to complement existing internal human resources functions and is only delivered by our experienced Senior Psychologists. This service can help leaders resolve their concerns including: the management of suspected or diagnosed mental health concerns; having difficult or performance based conversations; managing conflicts; supporting people through change and critical incidents and other general leader issues. 4

5 Our EAP Services (CONTINUED) EAP SERVICES FOR LEADERS (CONTINUED) MANAGEMENT REFERRAL This referral-based service allows an employer to engage an employee in a targeted review and/or counselling through Assure Programs. Using a collaborative agreement, Assure works closely with both the employee and manager to address the referred concern and achieve the agreed referral goal. ASSURE PLUS This confidential counselling service provides access, for all contracting entity HR and EAP Coordinators, to Assure s senior network of psychologists outside the regular Assure provider network. LEAP (LEADERS AND EXECUTIVES ASSISTANCE PROGRAM) A responsive and discreet confidential counselling service devoted to Leaders and Executives. This service is accessed by calling our dedicated free call LEAP number. Leaders and Executives are able to browse the biographies of highly qualified and extremely experienced psychologists to review and consider their needs. EAP SERVICES FOR ORGANISATIONS CRITICAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SERVICE (CIMS) This service is recommended for planned and unplanned critical incidents and significant events. It offers early intervention and support to employees, executives and leaders. Leaders are provided with immediate telephone triage and advice. Onsite service delivery may also be available. Assure also provides follow-up services for up to one month post incident. ON-SITE EAP A service provided as a one off or ongoing arrangement where the EAP comes to you. This service is designed to overcome any hurdle preventing an individual from accessing traditional EAP off-site. WALK THE FLOOR This model is designed to introduce staff to the EAP and involves a specialist Assure psychologist informally walking-the-floor of your office/site. The purpose of this service is to gauge interest and willingness amongst the employees to talk through any of their current needs and to provide general support. EAP AWARENESS SESSIONS A series of EAP awareness-raising sessions for either staff and/or managers designed to increase employee engagement and access to the EAP. Offered at an organisation s key office location, these sessions inform staff of the benefits available to them via their EAP and how to access the service. 5
