PROGRAM OVERVIEW To operate effectively at the next level requires a new set of capabilities to the technical skills that have helped make you successful today. This program is designed specifically to enable discipline managers make the transition from Technical Specialist to a General Manager level either at site or corporate level. We build the mining general management capabilities required to optimise operational performance through leading incremental and transformational change. 3 PROGRAM FOCUS The program has been designed around three central themes critical to optimising current and future mining performance: The transition to high performing mining leader: Interwoven across the 7 month program is a series of leadership development experiences which carefully guide and support the growth and development of Participant s leadership capabilities. Participants receive personal coaching feedback sessions across the program and supported application of competencies in the workplace takes place between workshop modules. Participants also work in teams and develop peer coaching networks. The business of mining and optimising operational performance: Focus in the first workshop is on achieving value creation through incremental change by optimising operations in the current mining context. Online modules and facilitated discussion around practitioner and academic speaker sessions focus on knowledge and capability competencies required to drive operational effectiveness. Creating new value through transformation and innovation in global mining: The second workshop and subsequent coaching and application focus on building capabilities to enable proactive value creation through non-linear shifts arising from external or internal changes. The ability to identify, create and lead transformational change in response to changing technology, social and environmental challenges to the future of mining, are critical capabilities required for success. Speakers will include academic thought leaders and practitioner speakers both from the mining sector and from leading practice organizations. PROGRAM DELIVERY The program is delivered over 7 months, minimising time away from site via 2 x 5-day intensive face-toface workshops and maximises learning outcomes by combining 2 x online learning modules, on-the-job learning between modules, 5 individual coaching sessions and peer learning.
