3 In 2013 international rail freight recovered to the level of 2008 [ # trains ] Traffic Development Aachen West Emmerich Basel ,7% + 1,2% + 5,7% Domodossola Chiasso Luino ,6% + 6,0% + 9,8% ,3% + 0,4 % General recovery of rail freight along the corridor (despite stagnant economy) No disturbance of the trans-alpine traffic by major line closures In Belgium loss of market share in the Port of Antwerp (mainly by a decline in single wagon load) and lower transport volumes due to the closure of an automotive plant Traffic increase via Emmerich is comparatively low, instead of considerable increase via Venlo (+8%) PMO International Corridor Rhine-Alpine Conference (Genoa, 18/09/2014) Chart No 3

4 In January 2014, the Rail Freight Corridor Rhine-Alpine was established and became operational What happened since; Establishment of EEIG Corridor Rhine-Alpine in Frankfurt Construction of pre- arranged international paths (PaPs) harmonised at borders and offered up from Corridor One-Stop-Shop (C-OSS) opened for coordination and allocation of PaPs requests, as well as providing marketing support for customers Performance Management integrating IMs and Rus Coordination of works up from 24 months in advance Long train study for 740 m long trains published Start of Customer Information Platform providing easy access to all relevant corridor information via internet Publication of corridor implementation plan endorsed by transport ministries Inauguration event of RFC1 & RFC2 on in Gent (B) PMO International Corridor Rhine-Alpine Conference (Genoa, 18/09/2014) Chart No 4

8 Proposed (Flex) PaP quantities for TT 2016 (per direction and per day) PaP offer TT 2016 RFC1 intends to pilot the Flex PaP in TT 2016 giving the following advantages: Number of offered PaP segments will be increased by approx. 30% and better harmonised About 60% higher offer on corridor segments that were overbooked for TT 2015 Adaptation of the offer (e.g. additional intermediate locations) in order to meet market demands Full compatibility with conventional PaPs PMO International Corridor Rhine-Alpine Conference (Genoa, 18/09/2014) Chart No 8
