7 Advisory Groups bring in the project the view of the Corridor users and customers Members RAG: RUs using or with an interest to use the corridor TAG: Terminal owners and managers, as well as ports Contribution to the project RAG and TAG deliver opinions to proposals of the Management Board likely to impact their activities RAG and TAG may deliver owninitiative opinions on all corridorrelevant issues Support to the objective of making rail freight more competitive Advisory Groups are given regular opportunity to express their views. To be fulfilled, the objective of greening transport must evolve from a "nice to have" (benefits in terms of image) to a factor of competitiveness Breakthrough of greening measures will take place if they are economically viable --> Toolbox and measures must be evaluated with respect to the additional business they bring Greening measures must be Customer-oriented Restore the conditions of true competition (internalisation of external costs) Envisage optimisation of costs and revenues under a co-modal/multimodal view improve logistic chains improve nodes can be best optimised if the connection with the ports and terminals are efficient Convince that greening can improve the business plan of rail freight: Avoid over-engineering: market is a better incentive than additional legislation 8
