JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Location: Marketing and Recruitment Officer for the University of Southampton (full-time) Mexico City Date Published: Tuesday 14 November 2017 Closing Date: Friday 01 December 2017 Summary: Inova Education (Inova) and the University of Southampton (UoS) (the Partnership) are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated candidate for the post of Marketing and Recruitment Officer to represent the partnership in Mexico and complement our Mexico and UK based teams. The post holder will be based in Mexico City reporting to the Inova Education General Manager with further strategic input provided by the University of Southampton International Office and the Inova Education Director. The post holder will represent the partnership in Mexico. You will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of recruitment and marketing activities across Mexico to help deliver student recruitment targets. You will help raise the profile of the partnership and work with prospective students, high schools, universities, and funding bodies and generally help identify and establish mutually beneficial links with local stakeholders. You will be a graduate (or have equivalent experience) with marketing or related experience preferably in the education sector, and knowledge of UK and Mexican Higher Education. You will have an engaging personality, excellent communication and presentation skills, customer focus, commitment and flexibility as the post involves travel and will involve working outside standard office hours. Main Duties and Responsibilities The post holder will Be responsible for planning and delivering recruitment activities for the UoS in Mexico. Build up market intelligence, identify opportunities and deliver market development strategies. Develop long-term sustainable relationships and manage existing links with international schools, colleges, universities, research institutions and funding bodies including CONACyT, FIDERH and FUNED and other key influencers and stakeholders in Mexico such as the British Council and alumni, as appropriate to the context of the market, in pursuit of the main functions of the post. Provide specialist market advice and information, practical assistance and encouragement to the partnership and academic groupings in their Mexico student recruitment activities. Help recruit prospective foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students and assist them throughout the conversion from applicants to registered students on Southampton s foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This will include delivering personal or group information and counselling sessions and presentations on an ongoing basis and arrange follow up activities with students, and other external agencies in a timely way to maximise the conversion rate. Deliver and attend presentations and recruitment fairs and events across Mexico. Assist in the organisation of recruitment visits to Mexico from partnership staff and academics. Be responsible for good Customer Relationship Management working with CRM systems, maintain an updated and relevant contacts and institutional database and ensure tailored and timely information is
disseminated into the market. Help develop and deliver ideas and content for social and printed media, websites and other promotional activities. Provide analysis and reports on input, outcomes and on-going progress. The ability to assess trends, opportunities and threats in the markets and to propose appropriate responses is a key part of this role. Undertake relevant projects, to be decided from time to time, and any other duties assigned by Inova (and occasionally on behalf of the University of Southampton). The projects allocated in this instance will depend upon the experience and skills of the appointee. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities which complement the purpose and objectives of the post. Additional Information in respect of the post holder s capabilities, knowledge and special requirements 1. The post holder is required to have a reasonable understanding of the UK education system and in particular the UK Further and Higher Education sector and will commit to personal research and training to further develop his or her expert knowledge in this field. 2. As the partnership representatives are partly based in the UK it is of utmost importance that the post holder shows professionalism, self-initiative, responsibility, and commitment to represent Inova and the UoS in their absence. 3. The post is full-time and will start on an initial 12-month contract with a 3-month probation. 4. The post holder will be employed by Inova and based at the Inova Education office in Mexico City. 5. The post holder will be entitled to employment benefits according to Mexican labour law incl. social security, Christmas bonus and vacation premium. 6. The partnership will refund all, pre-agreed, travel expenses, other than the home to office commute, that the post holder may incur as a result of the work undertaken. If travelling by personal car this will be a standard kilometer allowance in line with Mexican rules and guidelines. Any other expenses can only be claimed upon production of valid receipts and invoices and only then when agreed beforehand. The post holder will be provided with a mobile phone and a monthly subscription plan although we will expect email, Skype and the office phone to be used as the main means of communication with the team in Mexico and the UK, students and other stakeholders. 7. Strict confidentiality and data protection rules form an integral part of the work that will be undertaken. Both Inova and UoS work under strict UK and Mexican data protection rules and Inova, as the employer, is registered with the UK s Information Commissioner s Office (ICO.) The post holder will work in a competitive environment and as such will apply the strictest confidentiality where it concerns disclosure of any information into the public domain especially where it concerns commercially sensitive information but also to include information of which the Copyright or Intellectual Property Rights may be held by Inova or the UoS. 8.
