We offer vital advice, support and information to those affected, arrange group and 1-to- 1 support in the community and influence public policy to ensure that people get the services they badly need. Our renewed ambition is to become Scotland s leading organisation for personcentred, user-led community support for people with our health conditions. This role will be vital in supporting the communication, marketing and branding across all CHSS functions to support the launch of the New Ambition. This will include using multiple engagement platforms and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities: 1. CHSS New Ambition and Unified Emotional Proposition (UEP) To contribute to the review and re-communication of CHSS s positioning. This will include: To plan, develop and manage a portfolio of content across multiple platforms including digital, print and video. To provide trusted, high quality content and information to support people with long term conditions Produce content based on user needs to support CHSS s New Ambition and UEP positioning. Work with other CHSS departments to develop content that supports their departmental strategic objectives Ensure content is user-focused and consistently meets publishing standards Created: December 2017 Page 1
2. Content Development Provide specialist advice to staff across the organisation on generating content and using communication channels (especially digital) effectively Work with Health Information team to develop health information for multi-channel delivery and strategic planning for content development Manage all aspects of a portfolio of information products from scoping and production to evaluation and review Develop content for target audiences to include filmed, online and print, tools and more ensuring the appropriate channels are used to reach the maximum population of the intended audience Commission and manage designers, production companies, photographers and other contractors as required Devise innovative and interactive approaches to new work (particularly in digital environment) Work with colleagues in Strategy & Communications and other teams across CHSS to ensure that content achieves maximum reach and impact Publish content using our content management system and on social media 3. Content Editing and Management Ensure all content is relevant, appropriate and meets CHSS brand values Ensure that resources are, where possible and relevant, reviewed by service users and public involvement Work in partnership with health professionals and external experts to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of content and information Rebrand and update existing content as necessary Ensure that resources are delivered in the appropriate tone of voice, are accessible, engaging and conform to CHSS brand guidelines Work with Communications colleagues to produce, market and distribute products to relevant target audiences Identify opportunities across the organisation to initiate joint work and draw on expertise of other colleagues To contribute to the planning, development and management of our newsletter publications. Responsibility for leading content management throughout CHSS. 4. Project management, knowledge and skills Operate within CHSS content approval guidelines and to deadlines. Where possible, create and deliver project plans that involve users through the process from creation to delivery Commission and manage evaluations of information products and analysis of their impact Work with Digital and ICT colleagues to monitor the reach of online information and marketing communications Use social media and online tools to develop potential/ existing resources for your work and those of teams you work with Identify internal/external stakeholders for collaborative work and take part in working groups as required Monitor spend on individual projects and keep Health Information Manager and Marketing Manager informed of expenditure against budget Ensure new and updated information is taken through all necessary approval processes Share best practice across other teams and departments and produce guidance to colleagues as relevant Created: December 2017 Page 2

Summary of Terms and Conditions of Employment Location: Term: Salary: CHSS Head Office, Third Floor, Rosebery House, 9 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5EZ Permanent Grade 3(ii), Scale Points 27-34, 25,344 31,405 per annum New appointments are normally placed at the base of the salary scale unless there are exceptional circumstances. Hours of work: Review of Work: Annual Leave: Pension scheme: 32.5 hours (CHSS full-time). Monday to Friday, 9am 4:30pm The postholder is subject to the CHSS objective setting, supervision and appraisal process. CHSS leave year runs from 1 st April to 31 st March. Employees are entitled to 24 days annual leave in their first year of service along with 12 public holidays. An employee will be awarded one extra day s annual leave for each complete year of service up to a maximum of 30 days and 12 public holidays. These allowances are pro-rated for part time employees and further pro-rated for those who join or leave CHSS during the leave year. CHSS offers a Group Personal Pension Plan, which has been established with Aviva. The Plan is a money purchase arrangement. You can choose at what rate you wish to contribute (subject to a minimum age related contribution) and how to invest your own contributions and those made by CHSS. The emerging fund at the point that you wish to take the benefits is then used to purchase a pension that is paid for the rest of your life. Employee s and Employer s Contributions are paid on the portion of the employee s salary which is above the National Insurance contributions threshold (the Lower Earnings Limit). Employees who meet the relevant criteria are automatically enrolled in the scheme. There are also schemes which provide death-in-service benefit and permanent health insurance.
