JOB SUMMARY As an integral member of the Community Fundraising Team, the Centre Organiser will support the delivery of a range of successful fundraising activity based around the centre, in order to maximise income for Maggie s. Based in the centre, the role includes welcoming and supporting visitors within the centre in their fundraising for Maggie s as well as in the local community and ensuring they are motivated, informed and supported. As the first point of contact for fundraising within the centre the post holder will represent the work, vision and purpose of Maggie s whilst also providing and gathering information to help deliver local and central fundraising initiatives and campaigns. The post-holder must be passionate about bringing people together, building dialogues and listening to ideas. 3. ORGANISATIONAL POSITION See organisational chart. 4. KEY RESULT AREAS KRA 1. Primary requirements: Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from community audiences and suppliers, and provide suitable support and materials where possible and refer enquiries to Community Fundraiser where appropriate. Liaise with Supporter Services Teams to ensure complaints, responses and enquiries are efficiently and effectively handled, followed up and recorded. Be responsible for banking and receipting of all donations to the Maggie s centre and keep accurate records on all donors. Support communications activities using appropriate conventional and online media Work collaboratively with centre teams to maximise income from all areas. Maintain effective online and offline systems for the Community Fundraising Team including filing, stock taking etc Based at the centre, work across a wide geographical area within a geographically dispersed team Work within a fast moving environment and identify and respond to changing priorities Support the Head of Community Fundraising and Community Fundraisers as required Undertake any other duties consistent with the aims & purposes of MKJCCCT. KRA 2. Delivery of community fundraising plans and activities: Contribute to the development of new fundraising activities Ensure that the centre fundraising activity plan is run effectively and activities are well planned, marketed and supported Coordinate and update the Community Fundraising Team s web, facebook & twitter pages, ensuring that the team s use is effective, consistent and up to date Collate and catalogue supporter stories for work with local media and PR to maximise publicity and awareness of MKJCCCT and its activities Attend local and national fundraising activities as appropriate Support the Head of Community Fundraising with accurately monitoring and evaluating activity results for reporting purposes Centre Organiser - October 2011 2
KRA 3. Finance and policy and service development: Bank and acknowledge all donations to Maggie s via the central database and process and keep accurate records on all donors. Ensure Gift Aid declarations are sent out where appropriate. Process invoices for the Community Fundraising Team as required. KRA 4. Putting the supporter first: Respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and material etc Provide and facilitate supporters with a choice of how they fundraise and work with MKJCCCT in line with the national strategy and plan Provide excellent supporter care, which enthuses supporters and encourages commitment and loyalty to Maggie s. Ensuring that all communications are inspirational, personal and relevant. Recruit and supervise volunteers to support fundraising activity and administrative tasks. To ensure that volunteers are kept motivated and are equipped with the relevant resources and information to carry out their roles to add value to the team s activities. Ensure that all supporters are managed in accordance with Maggie s donor care policy. KRA 5. Management and Human Resources: N/A KRA 6. Research and Development Activity N/A KRA 7. Information Technology Ensure that all data is entered on the database to national standards, ensuring a high level of accuracy and in line with compliance requirements.
