Our stage and technical equipment in ur Cvent Garden hme is reaching the end f its useful life, and a plan fr its replacement and renewal needs t be develped. Finally, the tight margins n which we perate leave little headrm a breakeven 95% ccupancy bx ffice target, a tightly packed artistic prgramme and an rganisatin wrking at capacity. Gvernance Bard The Ryal Opera Huse is a registered charitable cmpany, limited by guarantee, with a nn-executive Bard. The Bard f Trustees cntribute, n a vluntary basis, expertise frm culture, educatin, business, finance, legal affairs and the public sectr. The Trustees meet six times a year, verseeing delivery f missin and aims, reviewing risk, making senir appintments and apprving majr spend. There are sub-cmmittees fr Finance and Operatins, Audit and Risk Cmmittee, Peple and Organisatin, Learning and Participatin the Open Up prject, Develpment (fundraising) and Fundraising Ethics. They will have line management respnsibility fr the Orchestra Administratin Directr, Technical Directr, Chief Technlgy Officer, Directr f Planning and Business Affairs, Directr f Human Resurces, Head f Facilities, Head f Visitr Experience and Bx Office Operatins Manager. This is a newly-cnfigured pst, fllwing the annunced departure f the current Chief Operating Officer, Sally O Neill, in December 2017. The main accuntability f the rle is t ensure that the right peple, prcesses, technlgy and infrastructure are in place t deliver the ROH plan peratinally, while cntinuusly driving imprvements in cst, efficiency and safety. Lead a highly capable executive team t develp and deliver an integrated change prgramme acrss the peratinal areas. Develp the business cases and negtiate fr resurces fr the change prgramme. Make recmmendatins t the Bard fr significant investments r changes as required. Be accuntable fr hw the change prjects are priritised and resurces are allcated acrss the peratinal areas and reslve any cnflicts r cmpetitin fr resurces in a way that benefits the ROH as a whle. Ensure that the ROH wrks clsely with Trade Unins and staff t ensure changes are implemented effectively. Develp relatinships with peers in ther cmplex rganisatins including ther pera and ballet huses, theatres, technical and prductin cmpanies and custmer service fcussed rganisatins. Prvide visible leadership internally with staff, casuals and cntractrs at all levels. Oversee a number f departments including apprximately 600 staff, casuals and cntractrs, and a budget f apprximately 50m including: Bx Office, Digital Develpment and Technlgy, Facilities Frnt f Huse, Human Resurces, Orchestra Administratin, Planning and Business Affairs, and Technical and Prductin. Be an advcate and ambassadr fr the ROH As a member f the Executive Team, participate in the strategic and artistic planning f the Ryal Opera Huse Actively engage with the develping f the ROH strategy and plan.
