1 Dr. Thilahgavani Nagappan B.Sc.(Hons.) Conservation Biology, 2009, Universiti Malaysia Sabah Ph.D Natural Product Chemistry, 2014, University Malaysia Sabah Contact Details Level 5, School of Marine Sciences and Environment Kuala Nerus, Terengganu Tel: ext 3713 Fax: / Field of Interest Advancement of Biodiversity Natural Product Chemistry Ecological Chemistry Research Interest My research interest involves (i) Understanding the ecological chemistry of plants which influence the presence of chemotaxonomical markers, (ii) Isolation and elucidation of compounds from marine and terrestrial resources and (iii) Discovery of bioactive compounds thru various screening platform. With rapid urbanization, I strongly believe the need for sustainable biodiversity resources for the benefit of humankind. Thus, I focus on looking back to nature for discovery of new compounds that can be developed into drugs to fight antibiotic resistance, infectious disease and cancer.
