4 BitNet company is a software implementation and information systems consulting firm based in Warsaw, Poland. Company is currently recognised as specialised transactional system developer and provider of complex information services. The first projects of BitNet date back to the times of economical changes in Poland after In the beginning of the 1990ties many high-tech companies where established in Poland to support technological revolution and computer expansion. For a few years we were the exclusive partner of the biggest software companies in the field of system and project documentation production. Starting from 1994 we were involved in the project which completely revolutionised the old-fashioned weekly magazines publishing system. The technology used in that project created the possibility for preparing immediate layouts while editing text, pictures and photos. Since then electronically created forms are sent through ISDN connection directly for printing utilities in Germany. In the following years we were co-operating with the leading Polish mobile telephone network operator. Our main activity was support and development of Network Management System. The effect of this was, among others, successful safeguarding against Y2K problems. It's worth mentioning that our Web based reporting system prepared for the international management of Saatchi&Saatchi provides fully secure data exchange. The system enabled viewing of the financial data from all around the world. Last but definitely not least chapter in BitNet history is co-operation with Nestle the world's biggest food producer. We re-developed transactional systems which manage purchasing, fixed assets and budget. After two years of successful co-operation, which continues until now, BitNet has re-cognised Nestlé as its strategic customer. BRIEF HISTORY
