2 Overview Most are familiar with the old, error prone approach of creating reports using multiple linked sheets and files with numerous formulas. The new approaches use automated routines to create reports from the underlying data. This course looks at how you can create automated routines using the Power business intelligence features in Excel to: Get and transform data automatically from multiple data source types using Power Query Setup relationships between different data sets and performing automated calculations - PowerPivot Create charts and graphs display the data - drag and drop style - Power View, & Maps The course also illustrates how you can perform all the above actions using Microsoft s new free data modelling and dashboard tool - Power BI Desktop. It also shows how to load the reports from both Excel and Power BI Desktop into the cloud based Power BI service to allow users to share and consume the reports and dashboards Seminar Format / Presentation approach This is a practical and highly interactive seminar with a mix of tutoring using real life examples, hands on exercises for each technique learnt, combination exercises and Q&As.
