3 Track 1: Sage 300 CRE: Financials 1-1 Managing Your Year-End Financials Lab Presenter: Kathy Lewis Version: 16 Who Should Attend: Users familiar with the General Ledger (GL) module Controllers, managers and accountants. Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Basic Understanding of financial statement design. Learning Objectives/Description: Ever wonder what your banker or bonding company was thinking when they look at your financials? This high-level presentation is for company owners and controllers, it focuses on financial statement presentation and how they can calculate key financial indicators and why they would want to track this in preparation for end of year presentations to bonding, banking, and CPA's. We take two sets of financial statements, and analyze them the way a bank or bonding company would, there are hands on activities for creating ratio such as working capital, etc. Perfect timing for discussion of this topic in order to help construction business owners prepare for year-end pro-actively vs re-actively. We will also review how to create and add these ratios to the balance sheet. 1-2 Importing to AP, JC, GL & CM Presenter: Kathy Lewis Version: 16 Who Should Attend: Controllers, accounting managers and accountants using the core accounting modules. Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should be able to understand and recognize the basic workflow for the core accounting modules. Additionally, attendees should have a basic knowledge of Microsoft(r) Excel. Exposure to Microsoft(r) Access would be helpful. Learning Objectives/Description: After completing this class, you will be able to create and import various transactional files into Sage 300 CRE. The class will focus on importing estimates, commitments, and direct cost into Job Cost. We will also look at importing invoices into Accounts Payable. The class will focus on importing budgets and transactions into General Ledger, and importing cleared checks into Cash Management. We will examine the structure of the import templates and learn how to create the import files from Microsoft(r) Excel spreadsheets. 1-3 Advanced Accounts Payable Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: Kathy Lewis Version: 16 Who Should Attend: Users familiar with the Accounts Payable (AP) module - Accountants, accounts payable managers, accounts payable personnel, controllers Learning Objectives/Description: This session will give you the fundamentals of the newer feature in the accounts payable module. 4 Knowledge Level: Basic Who Should Attend: All Sage 300 CRE Users Learning Objectives/Description: This hands-on lab session will allow users who are new to the Sage system and experienced users new to version 16.1 to practice navigating around Sage 300 CRE Desktop, Sage 300 CRE modules, access data entry screens, viewing inquiries, running reports and setting up favorites. In this session, we will discuss the main differences from previous versions, how to migrate your configuration to version 16.1 and explore the power of the desktop. 1-6 Reconciliation Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: Kathy Lewis Version: 16 Who Should Attend: Accounting personnel tasked with reconciling subledgers to the general ledger Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should be familiar with basic accounting concepts of reconciliation Learning Objectives/Description: After completing this 2-part hands-on lab session, you will be able to perform basic reconciliation tasks for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Job Cost, Payroll, and General Ledger. You will be able to identify common reasons for out of balance conditions and execute the necessary steps to solve the problem. Best practices for avoiding out of balance issues will also be discussed. Desktop Reconciliation Tool will be demonstrated. 1-7 Reconciliation Lab 2 of 2 (See 1-6) 1-8 Month-End, Quarter-End, Year-End Procedures Lab Presenter: Kathy Lewis /Advanced Version: 16 Who Should Attend: Controllers, owners, accountants, accounting managers. This workshop is intended for the accounting personnel in the company who manage the year end closing processes Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Interest in building standardized closing procedures. Attendees should be familiar with Sage 300 CRE data structure and have decision-making capabilities regarding data storage Learning Objectives/Description: Learn about Standard Reconciliation Reports and month-end through year-end closing procedures. We will cover best practices for closing and standard reports and procedures for period end through-out the year and create a checklist to assure that all of your company s period end procedures/reports are complete and useful. After completing this class, you will be able to plan and implement year-end procedures, create both an archive and a historical data folder, backup and restore data, and create a company plan for archiving data to history files. 5 Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees of this session should be familiar with construction project management techniques, basic Sage 300 CRE structure and workflow. Learning Objectives/Description: The intent of this session is to give you a detailed understanding of the workings and interactions between the various financial & project management components of Sage 300 CRE. At your company, you may or may not actually be the person doing the data entry for a specific task, but we want you to understand the steps involved so you could if you needed to and so you understand how the system works. This session will combine theory and hands on activity covering areas as, setting up the project and contract, entering or importing initial project values (Estimate), setting up and /or tracking project related financial data (commitments, costs, lien waivers, insurances, etc.) using built-in & add on tools, and other features of Sage 300 CRE. 2-2 Job Financials Lab 2 of 2 (See 2-1) 2-3 Project Life Cycle 1 of 2 Presenter: Don Bannister & Mary Jo Hamik Who Should Attend: Experienced Sage 300 CRE Users Learning Objectives/Description: In the fast-paced world of construction technology it is easy to get overwhelmed by the solutions/methods available to collect, store, manage and interpret data during the project lifecycle. In this two-part session, we will look at one company s list of solutions for managing a project through its entire lifecycle from prospect to bid to construction to close-out to warranty. Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees of this session should be familiar with construction project management techniques, basic Sage 300 CRE structure and workflow Learning Objectives/Description: This 3-part hands-on lab session will cover all aspects of the PJ Change Management system for tracking Change Requests, Owner Change Orders and Commitment Change Orders. After completing this class, you will be able to create internal (non-billable) and billable change requests, generate vendor requests for quote, track vendor pricing, produce change request forms, send pending estimate changes to Job Cost, use logs (reports), and edit estimates and markups. You will be able to create an owner change order, choose the associated change requests, approve the change order, update the job s schedule of values, edit an approved change order, and use change order reports. You will also be able to issue commitment change orders, use the Change Request to pull in vendor pricing and create linkages for reporting, and control when the change modifies existing line items in a commitment, or adds new commitment line items. 2-7 Advanced PJ Change Management Lab 2 of 3 (See 2-6) 2-8 Advanced PJ Change Management Lab 3 of 3 (See 2-6) Track 3: Sage 300 CRE: Job Cost, Customer Contracts & Billing 3-1 Advanced Job Cost Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: Kyle Zeigler Version: 16.1 Who Should Attend: Users familiar with the Job Cost (JC) module - Accountants, accounting personnel, controllers Learning Objectives/Description: This hand-on lab session will give you the fundamentals of some of the lesser used features in the job cost module. After completing this class, you will know how to setup and use Extras, understand how Misc. Worksheets function and how to setup and use your own Misc. Worksheet entry screens, how to import transactions, and how to use the Subcontractor Compliance features by setting defaults for each job then managing the Compliance Grid. 3-2 Advanced Job Cost Lab 2 of 2 (See 3-1) 3-3 Cost-Based Billing Setup (Rate & Markup Tables): CN, BL Lab 1 of 3 Presenter: Kyle Zeigler Version: 16.1 Who Should Attend: Accounting staff responsible for the billing of cost based invoices Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should be familiar with structure of Job Costs categories and cost codes Learning Objectives/Description: After completing this class, you will be able to complete the general workflow for reconciling and printing invoices. You will be able be confident in the setup of cost based contracts. You will also be able to verify that all applications interfaces are activated for billing. 7 Knowledge Level: Basic Version: 16.1 Who Should Attend: Users new to the Contracts (CN), Billing (BL) and/or Accounts Receivable (AR) modules - Accountants, accounts receivable managers, and billing assistants (office or project managers) who want to bill progress (AIA), lump sum or unit price contracts Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should have an understanding of how to bill progress, lump sum or unit price contracts using Microsoft Excel or a similar program Learning Objectives/Description: You will learn the settings that influence the billing process. You will have the knowledge to setup, bill, print, and post a new contract and invoice. This will include how to enter change requests/change orders either using only job cost or job cost and project management. 3-7 AP & AR Error Correction Presenter: Kyle Zeigler Version: 16.1 Who Should Attend: Users familiar with the Accounts Receivable (AR) module and/or the Accounts Payable (AP) - Accounting personnel who are responsible for maintaining customers, analyzing accounts receivable aging, entering cash receipts, and entering invoices, Accounting personnel who are responsible for maintaining vendors, analyzing accounts payable aging, entering invoices, cutting checks, Accounting Managers, Controllers. Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Attendees should be familiar with the basic functions of AR and/or AP. Learning Objectives/Description: This session will give you the fundamentals of error correction in the accounts receivable and accounts payable modules. We will review common errors than review the detailed steps necessary to make corrections so the reports will be accurate. 3-8 Office Connector Overview/Roundtable Presenter: Don Bannister Knowledge Level: Basic Who Should Attend: Anyone interested in learning about Office Connector Learning Objectives/Description: In this session, we will explore the basic features of Office Connector. Focus will be on using Office Connector Query and Write with the Core Sage 300 CRE Modules (A/P, J/C, G/L and A/R). If time permits we will look at other features of Office Connector or have a Round-table to look at specific concerns and share Tips & Tricks Track 4: Sage 100 Contractor 4-1 Sage 100 Contractor: Advanced Payroll Presenter: Kathy Gotzenberg to Advanced Version: Sage 100 Contractor Version 20.5 Who Should Attend: Payroll Department Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Understanding of basic payroll setup & data entry Learning Objectives/Description: Payroll processing and reporting is a vital function in every company. In this class, we'll discuss various options available for some of the more unique situations that arise: Union & certified payroll, payroll calculations, using an outside payroll service, and overall best practices. 7

8 4-2 Sage 100 Contractor: System Reconciliations Presenter: Melanie Rogers Version: 19.8 Who Should Attend: Accounting, Owners, Project Managers Learning Objectives/Description: Whether it's a bank statement, credit card account, general ledger account or job cost, they all should be reconciled. This class will explain not only the "How to", but "What to do" if a problem arises. 4-3 Sage 100 Contractor: Database Administration Presenter: Kathy Gotzenberg Knowledge Level: Basic to Advanced Version: Sage 100 Contractor Version 20.5 Who Should Attend: Company Administrators, IT Learning Objectives/Description: The release of Sage 100 Contractor Version 20.x introduced new components to the overall setup of the software, relocated some items, and provided new options to aid in managing your company's data. Whether you've already installed and are utilizing the new version, or getting ready to upgrade soon (remember, you need to upgrade before December 31, 2017), this session will help you understand the basics of the new Database Administration Tool. 4-4 Sage 100 Contractor: Query & Alerts Lab Presenter: Melanie Rogers Knowledge Level: Basic Version: 19.8 Who Should Attend: Accounting, Owners, Project Managers Learning Objectives/Description: Wouldn't it be nice to run a query right from the screen you are currently using? Or how about receiving an alert when your project is over budget or when your cash flow reaches a certain dollar amount? Come to this lab and learn how to create queries/alerts and where in the system they can be used. 4-5 Sage 100 Contractor: V20 Features and Enhancements Presenter: Kathy Gotzenberg Knowledge Level: Basic to Advanced Version: Sage 100 Contractor Version 20.5 Who Should Attend: Anyone Who Uses Sage 100 Contractor in Your Company Learning Objectives/Description: Now that the SQL Version of Sage 100 Contractor has been completed, Sage has begun adding some exciting new enhancements to the software! Attend this class to learn about them, as well as a "refresher" course on some of the basic system features and shortcuts. 4-6 Sage 100 Contractor: Change Order Management Presenter: Kathy Gotzenberg Knowledge Level: Basic to Intermediate Version: Sage 100 Contractor Version 20.5 Who Should Attend: Estimators, Project Managers 8

In this session, we'll discuss strategies for managing change work, various types of change orders, and best practices. 4-7 Sage 100 Contractor: Accounts Receivable: Beyond the Basics Presenter: Melanie Rogers Version: 19.8 Who Should Attend: Accounting, Owners Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Accounts Receivable Learning Objectives/Description: How do you handle a down payment for a job or use an A/P balance to write off an A/R balance? Like those two situations, there are others that we are faced with in A/R that aren't common. This class will discuss ways on how to handle those unusual scenarios. 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor: Form Design Lab Presenter: Kathy Gotzenberg Knowledge Level: Basic to Advanced Version: Sage 100 Contractor Version 20.5 Who Should Attend: Anyone interested in learning more about how to use the Form Design tool in Sage 100 Contractor Learning Objectives/Description: The Form Design lab is always a popular session at TUG Conferences. Learn how to use the various design tools to help make your company documents come to life. Track 5: Sage Estimating (Sage 300 CRE) all taught with the Core Plus (SQL) Version 5-1 Estimating (SQL Version) Fundamentals Workshop Lecture 1 of 3 Presenter: Jon Banse Knowledge Level: Basic Who Should Attend: Estimators Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Before beginning this session, you own or you are looking into purchasing Sage Estimating (Sage 300 CRE). Learning Objectives/Description: This class will focus on the basics and fundamentals of the Sage Estimating program. After completing this class, you will be able to create an estimate file and generate an estimate using all types of takeoff. We will explore the impact of database decisions on the estimating process and see how modifications to the database can enhance the speed and accuracy of the estimates and improve estimate reporting. We will learn how to use Database Editor (create and modify Items and phases) an application bundled with estimating, to quickly create new group phases, phases and items. You ll see how to make targeted and global modifications to edit descriptions, correct units, update prices, or change any database field quickly. You ll see how to filter the items under review and to use layouts to view only the data you want to modify. You will leave this session understanding why Sage Estimating is the leading estimating software. Track 6: Reporting Crystal Reports for Sage 300 CRE 6-1 Beginning Crystal Reports Lab 1 of 4 Presenter: David Hardy Knowledge Level: Basic Version: 16.1 Sage 300 and Crystal Reports 2013 R2 Who Should Attend: Both operations and accounting personnel who are ready to make the jump to Crystal Reports Prerequisites: Basic understanding of Sage 300 CRE 10

11 Learning Objectives: You re ready to make the jump to designing Crystal reports with the Sage 300 CRE database. Spend the day learning how to write reports for Sage 300. The skills you will learn will help you build reports for all Sage 300 Accounting/Project Management modules once you return to your office. We ll set up ODBC, and then begin creating new reports. We ll cover the fundamentals of formatting and will insert text and graphics for that professional look. We ll condition, sort, and insert totals. You ll learn about linking multiple tables so you can bring in data from many different tables and modules. You ll have plenty of hands-on activities. No prior experience with Crystal Reports is needed. However, we highly recommend that you be familiar with the Sage 300 CRE database and have Crystal installed and ready to use once you return to your office. 6-2 Beginning Crystal Reports Lab 2 of 4 (See 6-1) 6-3 Beginning Crystal Reports Lab 3 of 4 (See 6-1) 6-4 Beginning Crystal Reports Lab 4 of 4 (See 6-1) 6-5 SQL izing Crystal Reports Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: David Hardy Knowledge Level: Advanced Version: 16.1 Sage 300 and Crystal Reports 2013 R2 Who Should Attend: Both operations and accounting personnel who have moderate to advanced Crystal Reports experience and want to take on more challenging tasks Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Working knowledge of Crystal Reports application and Sage 300 CRE data structure Learning Objectives/Description: This session will show you how to create and use your own SQL commands inside Crystal Reports to increase reporting efficiency. Ever built a Crystal Report that runs too slow, or perhaps built a report 90% just to find you can t get it that last 10%? Have you ever thought there has to be a better way than using a half-dozen subreports? If so this class is for you. In this class, you ll learn how to build reports that don t need subreports, that run faster and that accomplish things you thought were impossible with Crystal Reports. We will learn basic SQL functions and how to build SQL Queries that can be run inside Crystal to make your reports more efficient. If you own Anterra Data Center or Sage Gateway, this class is a must as you can take full advantage of all the speed and power SQL offers right from inside Crystal Reports. Even if you don t own these products you will learn valuable skills that will speed up your reports Crystal Reports and take your report writing skills to a new level. Everyone who has taken Crystal Reports training before and wants to learn more should take this class. 6-6 SQL izing Crystal Reports Lab 2 of 2 (See 6-5) 6-7 Financial Statements Using Crystal Reports Lab 1 of 2 Presenter: David Hardy Version: Sage and Crystal Reports 2013 R2 Who Should Attend: Both operations and accounting personnel who have some Crystal Reports experience and want to take on more challenging tasks Prerequisites and/or Advance Preparation: Beginners knowledge of Crystal Reports application and Sage 300 CRE data structure are a must. SQL knowledge would be a plus but is not needed. Learning Objectives/Description: In this fast-paced class, we will learn the basic building blocks that will help you create amazing financial statements using Crystal Reports. Our activity will be creating a Basic Income Statement during the two-session course. The techniques you learn during this course will help you build any financial statement you desire once you return to the office. Along the way you'll learn a other features like how to speed up reports, avoid subreports and a bit of SQL script. Come for the fun and leave with a financial statement! 11
