3 OBJECTIVE CODING RENAMING Objective coding is the manual entry of metadata such as dates, titles, document types and parties from the face of a document into a database using Law In Order s state-of-the-art coding module. Documents can be coded using Law In Order s standard coding protocol, fulfilling the Federal Court guidelines; coded using existing client protocols; or coded using a newly created custom protocol. LAW IN ORDER S CODING TECHNOLOGY Coding Module Law In Order uses a secure private data centre to view and code PDFs side by side. We use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and algorithmic matching to sort documents by duplicates and nearduplicates, allowing for greater speed and accuracy of coding. The coding module also incorporates custom fields and client protocols. It exports the resulting database into a Microsoft Access file ready to be uploaded into your desired document review platform, or into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet if preferred. Quality Assurance Law In Order s custom quality assurance software allows coders to analyse coded databases using algorithmic matching for likely errors and inconsistencies. This enables quality assurance to focus on unusual or non-typical documents within the database overall, resulting in enhanced accuracy and consistency. Renaming, or index coding, is manual entry of a concise description of a document into an index or list, where a full, searchable database of document types and parties is not required. This usually involves coding of the document, with the final product being a Word or Excel document, often with embedded hyperlinks. At Law In Order we provide the following types of renaming, or as instructed by our clients: Creating an index direct from the hard copy for print/copy purposes. Hyperlinking indexes for speedy retrieval of documents. Data matching for matching a previously coded index to a new updated series of document IDs. Standard Renaming for converting your PDF documents into an index of dates, descriptions and document IDs using shorter titles for easy reading and producing a clean, consistent index. Extended and Client/Custom Renaming for additional information, which may include extra customised fields. Automation tool for direct renaming of PDFs in the file/folder structure. TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES Law In Order s experienced team provide transcription services across all types of investigations, interviews, and tribunal recordings. Law In Order can redact scanned hardcopy documents as well as electroniconly documents. In either case, redaction is performed efficiently and accurately directly on PDF documents using Adobe Pro software. MANUAL HYPERLINKING Law In Order can perform hyperlinking tasks for Word and PDF documents. This can be combined with Renaming to create a fully hyperlinked index. Hyperlinking can be done according to the following formats: Document IDs. File names and descriptions. In-text references
