3 Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world s poorest countries. HQ in Dublin, Ireland Operating in 26 countries worldwide.

4 PSI Mobile - Fusion PSI Mobile has been delivering mobile operational support applications since Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. Our Mobile Application Platform is Fusion. Focused on the International NGO sector since 2010.

5 Implemented > 20 Projects in > 30 Countries with International Non-Government Organisations

6 In 2010, Concern implemented 2 pilot projects to evaluate the benefits of Digital Data Capture. 1. Malawi Conservation Agriculture Project 2. Darfur Nutrition Survey These projects were implemented with PSI Mobile s Fusion Platform

7 PSI Mobile had originally developed the data capture module in Fusion for the Market Research industry in By 2010, digital data capture was a mature technology in use by thousands of users in the commercial sector.

8 By 2010 all of the major challenges associated with effective mobile data capture solutions had been resolved: Off-Line operation Data Security Cost of Data Availability of lower cost devices with better screen resolution / real-estate Android Mobile Device Management and Remote Support Reporting Tools Integration with 3 rd party applications e.g. Mapping/GIS.

9 Concern s pilot projects in Malawi and Darfur were a huge success. Achievements: 1. Availability of real-time information. Reporting 2. Accuracy of information. 3. Efficiency elimination of duplicated data entry etc 4. Programme effectiveness. 20% improvement in yields

10 Concern s adoption of cloud-based tools continues to grow and not just for the benefit of our staff but our programme participants too. As part of our ICT4D strategy, the use of our data gathering toolset has now expanded from supporting our conservation farming programme to supporting our health, nutrition and education programmes. 13 Emergencies 2011/2 In Haiti, the majority of Concern s post-earthquake emergency programs have come to an end and Concern are now focusing on longer term development goals, including Concern s Return to Neighbourhoods programme which supported 8,676 people to leave camps and return home in Source Concern Annual Report 2012.

14 In early 2012, initial call from Concern to outline requirements for Beneficiary Management solution to help manage Return to Neighbourhoods programme. The programme requirement Beneficiary Registration and Management to go live in 6 weeks.. PSI Implementation staff provided on-site support for project roll-out. Team of 50 local Concern staff completed approx. 2,200 registrations in 1 day. Workflow included: Identification of most vulnerable Household /Baseline Surveys House evaluation cash payments house verification checks, GPS On-going financial grants. On-going life skills monitoring programme.

15 Operational Support Project examples: DRC Beneficiary Management, Aid Distribution, Cash for Work Programme, Post Distribution Monitoring, Malawi and Zambia Farmer Registration and Conservation Agriculture Programme (phase 2). 24 Data Protection / Security PSI provides mobile applications to customers in the commercial sector Utilities who operate in a regulated environment. These applications (also based on Fusion) capture customer details and are subject to data protection legislation. PSI has been audited by third parties and is compliant with European data security / protection standards.

25 Task Management Create and schedule jobs and tasks for field based staff. Enable field based staff to update tasks with relevant information eg. time, costs, usages, work details etc.. Integrate with CRM/GIS Monitor real-time location of staff.

26 In Summary Digital Data Capture is a mature solution which has been available for a number of years. The Future Mobile Operational Support Applications which support the full range of onthe-ground activities of the NGO community. Continued development of functionality based on user feedback.
