2 1 ABOUT SHIPCHAIN ShipChain Inc. is a blockchain based solution provider for the transport and logistics industry. With a fully integrated platform across the supply chain, products are tracked from farm to table in an open ecosystem that allows for external players to integrate their products. Website: shipchain.io SUMMARY OVERVIEW ShipChain has been hard at work over the last few months expanding our team, forging new exciting partnerships, and most importantly, building the technical infrastructure needed to disrupt the entire freight and logistics industry. We are proud to share with all of you our first technical update for the ShipChain platform. Here s a quick rundown of what we ve been working on: AXLE Gateway: ShipChain hardware box is tested and usable, prototype v0.3 Transmission API: REST API proxy for blockchain interaction is MVP 4 mission critical smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain The ShipChain Portal: Alpha version of the Web platform

3 2 MAY 2018 TECH UPDATE From the very beginning, we wanted ShipChain to not only service our own partners, but empower other freight and logistics companies to seamlessly integrate into our platform effectively moving the entire industry closer toward unified data storage standards and transparent decentralization. With this in mind, we ve very deliberately constructed a REST-to-blockchain API called Transmission API that interacts with ShipChain users and the Ethereum blockchain, but also allows third parties to also interact with our storage drivers and smart contracts through familiar methods without a large learning curve. Transmission will be open sourced and made available to the community sometime before the end of the year, to help other partners build their own integration layers independently of ShipChain Inc. This is one of the most exciting aspects of the ShipChain platform, reducing the barriers to entry for other freight and logistics companies that want to leverage the blockchain, and encouraging participation in our ecosystem. On the Ethereum network, we ve laid the groundwork for four important smart contracts: PROFILE, MARKET, RATING, LOAD. Of these four SmartContracts, both the PROFILE and MARKET are completed to MVP status and undergoing internal testing, while our LOAD contract (used to track ongoing shipments) is fully operable with key beta functionality complete and beginning testing with our pilot partners. The RATING contract, which will be an avenue for reviewing and rating past drivers and jobs, is under active development These contracts are

4 3 where sensitive information on the ShipChain platform is checksummed for immutability, with large object data storage taking place on Storage Drivers (including IPFS, HTTP and Amazon S3) and protected by multikey encryption. By leveraging the blockchain, third parties will be able to interact with our REST API to utilize these smart contracts removing the need for them to build their own. For ShipChain users, our portal is being built out through the agile development methodology, adding all the necessary features for our internal fleet pilot partners to track and manage their shipments. As we work through defining use cases for all user types, we are testing an internal alpha version of the Web platform to better map functionality and track the flow of data. This ShipChain Portal will become the platform users see and interact with, adding tracking data from their hardware and managing hosted wallets but it will be optional for anybody who wants to directly interact with the SmartContracts on the blockchain. In addition, we have conducted a high level security analysis on all currently mapped workflows and processes to ensure development can move full speed ahead. And finally, we are thrilled to announce the ShipChain hardware box prototype V0.3 is completing hardware revisions and ready to begin replacing v0.2 units in field testing. Otherwise known as AXLE Gateway, this vehicle tracker is roughly the size of an iphone, which drivers will carry with them as they perform jobs. AXLE Gateway will be the first of many devices drivers can attach to

5 4 various jobs through the ShipChain portal, allowing the shipments being carried out in the real world to be automatically kept in sync with the tracking data and Ethereum blockchain. It is currently our goal to publish the source code and a parts list for the AXLE Gateway by the end of Q3 2018, allowing other vendors to adapt their hardware or build from scratch their own ShipChaincompatible Gateway devices; We are in talks with several 3rd party hardware providers to explore many different avenues of integration and support. CLOSING STATEMENT Documentation is being developed, proofread and tested for the AXLE Gateway, Transmission API platform, and SmartContracts, and should be publicly available sometime in the next few months. Keep an eye on our Github account (github.com/shipchain) which currently has our Token contract source code, and will have several more projects added throughout the next year. We re working hard on building communication and education resources for improving transparency into the ongoing development process, and we re keen on spreading knowledge and teaching everyone how blockchain can be used to solve real-world problems.
