Speaking at the latest SAPPHIRE SAP user conference SAP co-ceo Jim Hagemann Snabe talked of an inspirational visit to games developer, EA Games. They have one rule if they don t see visible joy in seven minutes the game will be a flop, so I told that to our developers: visible joy in seven minutes. We re still working on that. That obviously does matter a lot and we are doing a lot (around that). Snabe added: If I look at how my kids are consuming software, if it s not desirable immediately, they throw it away. Up to now understanding end user experience has required difficult, manual effort. Some companies still use the stopwatch method and sit next the users to measure their performance. Others believe in doing surveys or in making tracking calls to the help desk. As a result the real end user experience were clouded by anecdotes, hearsay and opinion. With SAP HANA, customers can approach their business needs in profoundly different ways by using breakthrough analytics, unprecedented new applications and renewed existing SAP solutions. For example, one customer is using SAP HANA to run real-time simulations to understand profitability and improve margins per project using granular revenue and cost data. Another customer that provides IT services for transportation companies is using SAP HANA to search through 360 million traffic records in a little over one second, allowing taxi companies to direct and dispatch cabs more efficiently and in real time. This is not about the technical migration to HANA, but what new HANA-options customers can use within BW with transaction RSA1 to optimize BW on HANA A basic or more profound understanding of HANA modeling is needed for customers that are: consume HANA models with BI (frontend tools), e.g. consuming HANA with Universes (basic) creating HANA models for ERP reporting themselves: whether RDSes or custom-built data marts (profound) STARTING POINT If you are new to SAP HANA you should start with the TZHANA course, which is a 2 day instructor led or virtual live classroom offering. TZHANA is designed to give delegates an overview of product positioning, roadmap and high level SAP HANA architecture. Delegates will also get hands-on exercises on Data Acquisition and Modelling. An alternative to the TZHANA course is the RHANA recorded course, but there are no exercises or system access provided with the recording. TZHANA or RHANA are prerequisites for all the other SAP HANA courses. The next step will be dependent on your role in SAP HANA implementation. TZH200 SAP HANA 1.0 Installation and Administration TZBWHA SAP BW 7.3 on SAP HANA day The TZBWHA is a 1 day course that gives an overview of running SAP BW on SAP HANA. This course includes an overview of the new HANA optimised infoproviders in SAP BW and looks at what is involved in migrations. This course only has demonstrations. These courses will lead to the Application Associate SAP HANA 1.0. THE TECHNICAL ROLE AND TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE If you are going to do the installation and configuration of the SAP HANA platform and database, then the TZH200 is for you.
