13 Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why do the Academic Research Editions no longer require ILM? A: We have decided to make our license keys machine independent and thus no longer require ILM. The keys enforce only a time limit, and are easily renewable as long as you are an active member of IBM Academic Initiative. Q: Is IBM ILOG AMPL available through IBM Academic Initiative? A: No. Since IBM ILOG AMPL is owned by AMPL LLC and not IBM, it is not currently available through IBM Academic Initiative. It is still available and academically priced from IBM.
