3 Technical Product Information Weight 264kg Length / Universal Corrugation 2.580m Width 3m Area 7.74sqm per panel Depth / Thickness 50mm Construction Extruded Aluminium sections Arrival at site Access / egress to all sites must be by a pre-planned route or by the client s instruction. All certification / qualification for the vehicle and crew are available for inspection. Before any activity on site, a site-specific risk assessment will be prepared, all Live personnel will be made aware of the content / signed in to it. The vehicle will be prepared for installation / recovery of the track panels. Whilst on site hazard lights / roof beacons will be active. The vehicle will reverse to the start of the access under the guidance of a banksman. All reversing will be under the supervision of a trained banksman. All crane operations will follow stabilizer guidance as documented in the vehicle safety pack. All Epsilon crane operation must be via the remote control unit. When working in an area where remote control is prohibited the umbilical cord must be used. And must follow stabilizer guidance as documented in the vehicle safety pack Please note: This is a generic visual method statement of how LIVE install / Recover Track panels. A site-specific method statement can only be produced following a site visit. Visual Method Statement: Hybrid Panel VMS HP Issue 1 2
4 Installation Vehicle with Track panels for the installation Crew preparing the vehicle for work on site. The VMS for chain operation must be followed when using chains for installation. A maximum of 4 panels are slung and lifted from the vehicle The VMS for tag line use must be followed when using lifting chains The panels are placed along side the access to be installed A single panel is slung for lifting with chains attached to the reinforced sections The first panel is placed on the line of the access to the rear of the vehicle Visual Method Statement: Hybrid Panel VMS HP Issue 1 3
5 And lowered onto the ground The connecting bolts are removed from the transit position The cross plate is left in position if a single 3m access is being installed or slid across into the panel alongside if a pad is being created The bolt is tightened with a pneumatic wrench (this is repeated on the opposite side of the panel) Ear Protection Must be worn when operating Pneumatic tools While the second crew member tightens the bolts the crane operator slings and lifts into position the next panel ready for fixing Once the crane has reached its maximum working radius the vehicle is reversed down the access under the control of the second crew member who is a trained banksman Visual Method Statement: Hybrid Panel VMS HP Issue 1 4
6 When configured as a pad, crossplates will be fitted at every connection On the edge of the access all of the panels will be connected with crossplates Centre connection plates are hidden and the bolts set in a recess The complete access with work area Visual Method Statement: Hybrid Panel VMS HP Issue 1 5
7 Recovery The vehicle is positioned for recovery of the pad One of the crew members removes all bolts from the panels to the rear of the lorry prior to lifting the panels Panels from the pad are lifted and stacked to the side of the access to a maximum of 4 panels As the panels are lifted the second crew member secures the bolts and plates into the transit locations Crew member securing the bolts and plates Once the stack of panels reaches 4 it is lifted onto the bed of the vehicle Visual Method Statement: Hybrid Panel VMS HP Issue 1 6
8 The second crew member squares the panels up on the back of the vehicle Tag lines must be used for this operation and visual contact of the second man maintained by the crane operator at all times Panels being secured for road transport Panels can be loaded and unloaded using a suitable forklift truck Visual Method Statement: Hybrid Panel VMS HP Issue 1 7
