2 Safety First BarrierGuard 800 has been specifically designed to put safety first, conforming to BS EN :1998 Containment Levels T1, T2, T3, N2, H1 and H2. The face of the barrier has a continuous and uniquely stepped profile, with no posts, consequently reducing any risk to motorcyclists and ensuring a smooth redirection of errant vehicles. Mabey s BarrierGuard 800 is approved for use by Highways England and the Scottish Roads Authority for use on the motorway and trunk road network in England, Scotland and Wales. Each standard 12m BarrierGuard 800 section is equipped with the patented QuickMount fixed pinned connection system. This rapid, strong and precise system ensures that installers are exposed to the dangers inherent in working alongside live traffic for the bare minimum of time. The QuickMount system also ensures that there are no loose parts left behind following the installation, reducing accident risk for the travelling public. BarrierGuard 800 Introduced to improve safety for both the travelling public and the workforce during road improvement works, BarrierGuard 800 is a temporary steel barrier system approved for use on the motorway and trunk road network. BarrierGuard 800 is a robust deformable steel safety barrier system, designed to contain stray vehicles by absorbing energy through a combination of self-weight and catenary action. Designed with safety in mind, BarrierGuard 800 gives a high level of protection to both the travelling public and those in the work zone by providing continuous physical separation. Extensive testing has confirmed that BarrierGuard 800 has the lowest deflections in its class, allowing contractors to safely maximise their work zones. Training Only operatives who have successfully attended a Lantra approved training course must carry out the installation of BarrierGuard 800. For those clients that do not hold necessary certification, we offer supply and install packages using our own qualified and experienced installation teams. 3 High Installation BarrierGuard 800 is generally delivered to site in 12 metre lengths, although 6m lengths are also available. Up to 216 metres of barrier can be safely loaded and transported on a single vehicle. Its QuickMount connection system gives instant and precise location, allowing a team of three people to install the system at more than 200 metres per hour. Manpower levels are kept to a minimum, reducing both costs and risk. Simple Anchoring The system can provide either single or double sided protection and for normal applications, the barrier need only be anchored at one end of each run via the ramped end terminals. Continuous anchoring can be provided at 12 metre intervals should the application require that the lateral deflection be kept to a minimum. Gates BarrierGuard 800 offers a gate section as part of the range of accessories available. The gate has been engineered to provide a safe, simple to operate access point through the barrier for emergency services should this be required. The gate can be supplied in lengths from 6m upwards, configured to suit individual requirements. Crash Cushion We offer the Tau crash cushion as an alternative to the standard ramped ends on BarrierGuard 800 installations. Tau offers increased safety as any impact is absorbed by the unit telescoping rearwards and capturing the stray vehicle to prevent secondary impacts. Tau is fully tested to BS EN and is listed in the Highways Approved Road Restraint Systems for speeds of up to 110km/h. Radii BarrierGuard 800 can be used for curved applications on radii as small as 35m. The barrier s flexibility is enhanced by the addition of 6m barrier units, and 0.6m 2½ and 5 angled sections.
