The WP200e is easily programmed using the CD Changers own remote control. Every wallbox song selection can be individually programmed to play any track on any CD disc. You can also have selections play multiple songs or a complete disc. All programming is stored in memory and will not be erased when powered off. Several adapters can be connected to a single CD Changer allowing a variety of wallbox combinations. You can even program each wallbox with different songs or set them up by era, song style or special occasion. 2 Installation The WP200e contains two phone plugs, the larger (3.5mm) plugs into the CD s Control Out jack the smaller (2.5mm) plugs into the CD-Deck Synchro jack. The black wire MUST be grounded to the CD changer chassis. Loosen a cover screw, slide the terminal beneath, then tighten. If this is a first time installation, then the song memory should be cleared and the wallbox type selected. Clearing the song memory will erase all previously programmed song selections. The wallbox type or option features can be changed at any time and will not affect the song memory. When the song memory is cleared, it is initialized so that a wallbox LETTER key will select the disc number and the wallbox NUMBER key will select a track number. For example A1 will select disc 1, track 1, C6 will select disc 3 track 6. To enter the WP200e programming mode, press and hold the STOP key on the remote control until the LED remains on, about 4 seconds, then choose the program function. If a function is not chosen within 30 seconds, the WP200e will automatically reset. The two conductor clear zipcord connects to the wallbox pulse signal outputs. See Typical Wallbox Wiring for details. CAUTION: Do not attempt to hook up a wallbox power supply if you are not familiar with electrical wiring, consult with a qualified person or an electrician. Do not leave any wires exposed, always use wire-nuts or electrical tape on all connections. Improper wiring can result in a fire or shock hazard. Initial Check Plug the AC adapter into the WP200e DC power jack, the LED (activity indicator light) should blink rapidly for a short time. Turn on the CD changer power then press any key on the remote control, the LED should be blinking any time a key is pressed. This completes the initial check. Programming The WP200e contains a configuration memory and song memory. The configuration memory contains the setup information related to the wallbox type and option features. The song memory contains the command sequence that is sent to the CD changer when a wallbox selection is made. Clearing the Song Memory Press and hold the STOP key until the LED remains on then press and hold the CLEAR key (or RANDOM key) until the LED begins to blink. HINT: If a 6-disc CD Changer is attached, press the DISC1 key first. This lets the WP200e know that the memory should be initialized for a 6-disc type changer. Selecting the Wallbox Type Press and hold the STOP key until the LED remains on then press and hold a numeric or command key until the LED begins to blink. See the Wallbox Table List for the proper key selection. The Final Check Now you re ready for the final check. Make a wallbox selection, try A1, the LED will blink 3 times to let you know it accepted the wallbox code. After a few moments, the LED will begin blinking as it sends command frames to the CD changer. The CD changer will then load disc 1, track 1 and begin to play. At the end of the song, the CD changer will stop. If more than one song selection was made, the next song will be played.

3 If a song did not begin to play and the same song is selected again, that song will only be played once. The WP200e will accumulate up to 32 song selections from the wallbox and will play them in the order that they were received. Programming the Song Memory Song memory is programmed by storing up all the key sequences that are associated to a wallbox selection. The WP200e will save all key entries, up to 31 steps, with the exception of a STOP key after the PLAY or RANDOM key. This is used to signify the end of the key sequence entry. To program a wallbox selection, press and hold the STOP key until the LED remains on then press the wallbox buttons for the song selection you want to program. The LED will blink 3 times then remain on. The WP200e will now be waiting for your key sequences. The following section will contain the key sequence steps for both the 6-disc and file type changers. Single Song for 6-disc Changers 1 Press PROGRAM 2 Press the DISC NUMBER key 3 Press the TRACK SEARCH (or ASMS) Until you reach your desired track # 4 Press PROGRAM 5 Press PLAY 6 Press STOP To play a complete disc, the 9-minute play limit must be disabled ( STOP & POWER ). This is the protective guard against unpredictable CD changer operation caused by unreadable discs. Complete Disc for 6-disc Changers 1 Press PROGRAM 2 Press the DISC NUMBER key 3 Press PLAY 4 Press STOP Complete Disc for file type Changers 1 Press PROGRAM 2 Use the numeric keys, to enter your Disc # (eg. For disc 25, press 2 then 5) 3 Press DISC SET 4 Press PLAY 5 Press STOP Connecting Several Adapters The WP200e uses 3 connections to a CD changer. The ground terminal, the 1/8 (3.5mm) mono phone plug (CONTROL) and the 3/32 (2.5mm) mono phone plug (SYNCHRO). The 3 individual connections must be combined when using several WP200e s on a CD changer. You can use mono Y-adapters which are available at most audio accessory stores. You can also make your own cable using jacks and plugs which are also available. Single Song Play for file Changers 1 Press PROGRAM 2 Use the numeric keys, to enter your Disc # (eg. For disc 25, press 2 then 5) 3 Press DISC SET 4 Use the numeric keys, to enter your Track # 5 Press TRACK SET 6 Press PLAY 7 Press STOP WP200e Power Supply An AC to DC wall adapter provides power for the WP200e. The DC power plug is a barrel-type 2.5mm x 5.5mm, center pin is positive. The WP200e will operate from any power supply having a voltage output between 9 to 12 volts DC and a current rating of least 30mA or higher. The wallbox itself requires its own power supply. See Typical Wallbox Wiring for details.

4 Program Function Summary The programming mode is entered by pressing and holding the STOP key until the LED remains on. You would then either make a wallbox selection for song programming or press and hold a second key until the LED blinks to select an option. STOP & (wallbox selection) To re-program a song selection. The LED will blink three times then remain on. Press all key sequences desired for this wallbox selection. When completed, press the STOP key. STOP & 1 or DISC1 Selects wallbox type 1. STOP & 2 or DISC2 Selects wallbox type 2. STOP & 3 or DISC3 Selects wallbox type 3. STOP & 4 or DISC4 Selects wallbox type 4. STOP & 5 or DISC5 Selects wallbox type 5. STOP & 6 or DISC6 Selects wallbox type 6. STOP & 7 or STOP Selects wallbox type 7. STOP & 8 or PAUSE Selects wallbox type 8. STOP & 9 or PLAY Selects wallbox type 9. STOP & TRACK UP To allow new wallbox selections to override currently playing selections without waiting for the song to finish playing. Can also be used for CD changers that do not have the CD-Deck Synchro feature. Re-select the wallbox type to clear this option. STOP & TRACK DOWN To enable 50Hz line frequency operation. Re-select the wallbox type to clear this option. STOP & CLEAR (or STOP & RANDOM ) To clear song memory. When completed, a wallbox LETTER key will select a disc # and the wallbox NUMBER key will select a track #. For 6-disc changers, press the DISC1 key first. This will cause the song memory to be initialized for 6 disc operation. STOP & PROGRAM To enable the wallbox pulse view. This is a diagnostic feature to verify that pulses are being received from the wallbox. The LED will show pulse/no pulse signal conditions. Re-powering up will reset this feature. STOP & HI-LITE To enable the Auto-Play feature. Plays a random song selection, after every 16-minutes of no activity. Primarily used to stimulate song playing interest. Re-select the wallbox type to clear this option. STOP & FAST FORWARD Multiple Unit Mode. Select this feature only when connecting more than 1 WP200e to a CD changer. Re-select the wallbox type to clear this option. STOP & FAST REVERSE Factory Test Mode. Places a square-wave signal on the Control line. Unit is inoperable during this test. Re-power unit to exit factory test mode. STOP & POWER To disable the 9-minute limit guard. Re-select the wallbox type to clear this option. 5 TROUBLESHOOTING Symptom The LED does not blink rapidly when the AC adapter is plugged in. During the initial check, the LED does not blink when a remote key is pressed, but the LED did blink rapidly when the AC adapter was plugged in. After clearing the song memory, the LED no longer blinks when a remote key is pressed. When a wallbox selection was made, the LED did not blink three times to indicate that it accepted the wallbox code. When a particular song was selected, a different song was played. After a wallbox selection is made, the song is not being played and the LED seems to be blinking every 30 seconds. When a wallbox selection is made, the song begins to play, but then 30 seconds later, the song restarts again. The same song was selected several times but it only played once. When a selection is made, it appears to take a while before the song plays and/or the CD display seems to show partial selection attempts every few seconds. Defective unit. Defective power adapter. Possible Cause CD Changer is not powered on. Ground wire is not securely attached. Phone plug is not inserted into Control Out jack. A malfunction occurred in the storage memory. (repower the unit and try again) Wrong wallbox type was programmed. (see wallbox table list) No signal is being received from the wallbox. (select STOP & PROGRAM to verify wallbox pulses) Wallbox signal is erratic. (see TECH NOTE below) Wrong wallbox type was programmed. (see wallbox table list) Wallbox signal is erratic. (see TECH NOTE below) CD Changer is not powered on. Ground wire is not securely attached. Phone plugs are not inserted correctly. Phone plug is not inserted into CD-Deck Synchro jack. If a song has not yet started to play and the same song is selected again, the WP200e will only play the song once (similar to real jukebox operation). The CD Changer remote control sensor window is receiving strong light such as sunlight or fluorescent light. Move the CD Changer or cover sensor window. TECH NOTE Electrical pulses transmitted by the wallbox are generated by a contact arm rotating on a selector disc containing contact points. When these contacts become gummed up and corroded, the wallbox may not make the proper selection. Occasionally, these contacts require cleaning. They can be cleaned with a cloth saturated with isopropyl alcohol. Do not use emery cloth or sandpaper as this may remove the plating. On really worn wallboxes, where basic cleaning doesn t seem to cure the problem, you may have successful results by using a low abrasive polish, such as Scratch Out or Brasso. This will make the contact surfaces shiny and smooth.

10 Wurlitzer select The Original 1015 Bubbler Wallbox 120VAC SIGNAL This wallbox has its own built-in transformer and requires a 120VAC power cord.
