3 Fle your design! Installation fast and simple You do not have to be a floor epert to place the SOLUFLEX Cable Floor System. It is merely a question of placing supports in a row and clicking tiles into them. Without glue or screws. The required cabling and connections can be installed between the supports by removing a few tiles and click them back afterwards. No more drilling or breaking. Finally the cable floor system can be covered with any type of covering as carpet tiles, rubber, stone or wood. Furthermore if the office relocates, the supports and tiles can be taken along and re-used in a new office. Maimal design freedom When designing an office, it is no longer necessary to keep track of the connection points for data, telecommunication and electricity. As the cabling is ready for installation under the entire floor and the location of contact points can be determined at a later stage. 10 Technical details Legrand SOLUFLEX Cable Floor System Construction The SOLUFLEX Cable Floor System is constructed of a raised floor of tiles and supports with the cabling and connection points for telecommunication, data traffic and electricity integrated into it. Materials The tiles are made of pre-galvanised sheet material. The supports are made of polypropylene. Weights and measures Dimensions of tiles: mm. 4 different heights: 37 mm, 60 mm, 90 mm, 120 mm. Other heights on request. Weight of the Solufle cable floor system: appro. 20 kg per m 2. Point load per tile/support: 1500 Newton/25 mm 1. Equal devided load of 3000 kg per m 2. Since the system is not adjustable in height, it needs no later adjustment. The diagonal structure of the cable floor system means the cables are perfectly parallel, and you can cross data cables at the required angle of 90. 9

11 Material Pregalvanised steel plate in accordance with EN The major part of the Solufle Cable Floor System is made of continuous hot dip galvanised steel plate, also called pregalvanised steel plate. The rolling mill provides this steel plate with a layer of zinc of ca. 20 mu. Basically, when applied under normal internal circumstances, products made of such a plate are sufficiently protected against corrosion. Polypropylene The support bases of the Solufle Cable Floor System are made of polypropylene. The inflammability of PP is class B2 according to DIN Measures and weights Dimensions of tiles: mm. 3 different floor heights: 37 mm, 60 mm, 90 mm. Deviating floor heights on request Weight of the Solufle Cable Floor System: ca. 20 kg per m 2. Load bearing data Even surface load 3000 N per m 2. Point load, per tile or base, 1500 N/25 mm. 12 TNO-fire Fire propagation The low plenum height makes the cable floor system self-etinguishing. NEN-EN B(fl) S1-d0 NEN 1775: A - Inflammability - Complies with the class T1 criteria for inflammability. B - Horizontal fire propagation: All thicknesses (H37; H60 and H90) - maimum horizontal fire propagation = 0 cm, which implies a critical density of heat flow of more than 11 kw/m2. Classification according to NEN 1775: Class T1. NEN 6066: With (highest) heat flow supply of 50 kw/m2: (Highest) normative smoke density smaller than 0.5 m-1, which is very little smoke production in case of fire. DIN 4102: Resistance to fire in accordance with DIN 4102 Class B1 KEMA-certificate Solufle Cable Floor System has been certified by KEMA and meets the requirements for mechanical and electrical safety Earthing The cable floor system is automatically earthened, provided that 1 earthing tile is installed per 100 m 2. Install an earthing tile every 14 m length in gangways. Levelness The subfloor must be dry, clean and level, suitable for laying carpet. If the floor does not meet the levelness requirements, level it first. Please take contact to your floor specialist to get a proper advice. 11

13 Make your choice here Solufle H = 37 mm Makes old buildings up-to-date The 37 mm high version has been developed especially for renovation buildings. Under less than 4 cm floor elevation all thinkable cabling is possible without cutting or breaking. Besides, maimum room to move remains above the floor. Also old rooms with low ceilings are updated this way. If the door does not allow further elevation of the floor, then you can make the cable floor system start a little bit further by using special ramps. The best subfloor for this cable floor system is a level, finished floor. The high-tech of the Solufle Cable Floor System is hidden under a taut and neutral look, a major advantage with the renovation of characteristic old buildings. Old buildings are made ready for the requirements of the future without affecting the authentic atmosphere. Semi surface-mounted structure H = 37 mm If you want to make use of the outlet units for underfloor plugging in, you will never be able to completely conceal the wiring devices with a height of 37 mm. A semi built-in/surface mounted unit with 2 connections is available especially for this height. Together with two metal edges and a tilting plug guide this semi surface-mounted structure has eactly the same size as one tile. The semi built-in/surfacemounted unit protrudes a little bit above the floor. The floor covering only needs to be cut and can be repaired virtually invisibly. Surface-mounted structure H = 37 mm If you choose for plugging in everything above the floor, there are plenty possibilities. Various surface-mounted accessories are available. Fully submerged unit H = 37 mm Even with the lowest cable floor system in the world all cables can be concealed beneath the floor. Junction boes and branchings remain invisible and the floor remains all level and taut. We will be pleased to tell you about further connection details. The cabling is got above the floor by using an cable outlet tile with a bushing. 12 SOLUFLEX

14 Solufle H = 60 mm Special wiring devices With this height you can use special wiring devices, junction boes and plugs, plus the traditional accessories you already know. The possibilities are actually unlimited. The wiring devices are flush and invisible. There are outlet units of the size of one tile as well as large lid & frame assemblies of the size of 4 tiles. For electricity, telecommunication, data traffic or for all possible combinations thereof. You can compose the outlet units yourself, but you can also choose for pre-wired models. The cabling can be led up in a concealed way from the floor. It is also possible to have connections on the workplace itself without having loose cables lying about. Outlet units H = 60 mm There are various solutions for outlet units. There are units of the size of one tile that are especially meant for the Mosaic wiring device. Various types of wiring devices fit in for data, electricity and telecommunication. All kinds of combinations are possible with these as well. The outlet units can be prewired and as an option they are also available prewired; you can place them between the support bases. For building in more units built-in tiles are available of the size of four normal tiles. Solufle H = 90 mm & H = 120 mm The 90 mm & 120 mm high Solufle floor also leaves enough room for bulk cabling and outlet unitss. Various models of pre-wired and not pre-wired lid & frame assemblies are available. The cabling can be led up further from the floor. It is even possible to make connections at the workplace itself. Built-in tiles are available for mounting lid & frame assemblies in the traditional shapes square, round and rectangular. Traditional wiring devices fit into these. You can create the outlet units for electricity, telecommunication and data yourself in these lid & frame assemblies. If you want to be able to plug in above the floor as well, there is a broad range of surfacemounted accessories. The fully submerged units applicable in floor height 60 mm are also available with a height of 90 mm & 120 mm on request. The connections are horizontally plugged in under the floor. If required, pre-wired units are available in various combinations, for eample data and electricity combined or two-sided electricity. Entirely customer-specific. The built-in tiles are finished with a standard square lid & frame assembly. If you want to be able to plug in above the floor as well, there is a broad range of surface-mounted accessories. 13

27 Solufle Cable Floor System general installation instructions mounting the Solufle Cable Floor System At last you no longer have to take the connections for electricity, data traffic and telecommunication into account when determining the arrangement of your office. Mounting the Solufle Cable Floor System Start with a dry, clean and level subfloor that is suitable for laying normal carpet If the floor does not meet the requirements with respect to levelness, level it first Closed solufle floor Start in the room from a square corner and click the tiles into the plastic supports The space between the wall or pedestal and tile must be ca. 10 mm (dilatation) Go on building the floor like this Cut fitting tiles or edge finishing to size Cable routes You are now ready for opening the cable routes using a cabling plan Make sure that the cables are not placed under filing cabinets to be placed in the future, this limits the fleibility The corners of the tiles have small recesses for lifting them up using, for eample, a screwdriver. Remove the other tile by hand Earthen the cable floor system every 100 m2 by means of an earthing tile In stretched areas such as corridors the maimum distance between earthing tiles may lengthwise be not more than 14 metres Earthened such the metal floor is always safe to touch for creating 'islands' apply a plenum sealing with eterior angle This guarantees a neat finishing of the system The ramp provides a constant transition from an eisting floor to the Solufle Cable Floor System Earthing Finishing with carpet tiles For cabling you can apart from the well-known installation cables also make use of fleible cables or plane cables Now place the cables into the cable routes with sufficient etra length for more fleibility By applying junction boes you will be able to realise etra connections without current interruption later. Dependent on the floor height a choice can be made from various (prewired) outlet units in or on the cable floor or at the desk The installation of the cabling is done by an authorised installer and shall comply with the standards of NEN 1010 Ramp The entire system can easily be dismounted and applied again This gives the Solufle Cable Floor System a virtually unlimited life The Solufle Cable Floor System can be finished with carpet tiles Finishing with carpet tiles is required for the fleibility and accessibility of the system Dismounting and appleid again Unlimited life 26
