2 Cold Storage Finishes Kingspan Controlled environments take many different forms and the performance and functionality will depend on the requirements of the specific project. The internal environment of the project will be subjected to a variety of conditions which may affect the performance of materials and systems. The corrosive factors of an internal environment are determined by the presence of corrosive chemicals and / or micro-organisms in the internal atmosphere, relative humidity and also by the frequency of cleaning, aggressiveness of the cleaners, degreasers and sanitizers and method of cleaning. Kingspan coatings are designed specifically for temperature controlled environments. Each coating has particular properties suited to different environments and it is therefore important to choose the right coating to meet the appropriate classification of corrosive environment and type of activities. Corrosiveness Factors 1. C1 Very Low: Dry environment with no attack from corrosive chemicals and / or micro-organisms. Routine cleaning (not more than once a month) using neutral cleaning agents. 2. C2 Low: Environment where condensation may occur, with no attack from corrosive chemicals and/or micro-organisms although the walls may occasionally be splashed with slightly corrosive liquids. Routine cleaning (not more than once a month) using neutral cleaning agents. 3. C3 Medium: Environment with frequently high humidity and where corrosive chemicals and / or micro-organisms are present. Non-intensive cleaning (not more than once a week) using higher ph cleaning agents. 4. C4 High: Environment with constant high humidity and where high concentrations of corrosive chemicals and/or microorganisms are present. Intensive cleaning (not more than once a day) using higher ph cleaning agents (ph 5-9). 5. C5 Very High: Environment with permanent condensation and where high corrosive chemicals and / or microorganisms are present. Intensive cleaning (not more than once a day) using higher ph cleaning agents (ph 5-9). 3 SMP SMP Coating SMP is a chemically inert Silicon polyester paint, applied to pre-treated metal, and specifically developed for controlled environments. Characteristics Food safety suitable for surfaces immediately behind food preparation, processing surfaces or equipment. Easy to clean. Resistant to staining, mold growth and surface extraction. Excellent robustness. Excellent chemical and humidity corrosion resistance. Topcoat Primer Pre-Treatment Metal Substrate Non-toxic. Resistant to impact and surface wear. ANTI-Microbial PVC ANTI-Microbial PVC Coating AM-PVC is a chemically inert Anti-Microbial polymer film, laminated to pre-treated metal, and specifically developed for controlled environments. Characteristics Food safety suitable for surfaces immediately behind food preparation, processing surfaces or equipment. Easy to clean. Resistant to staining, mold growth and surface extraction. 4 SS 304 Finishes SS 304 is chemically inert, crevice free austenitic stainless steel, specifically developed for controlled environments and high corrosive environments. Characteristics Stainless Steel Food safety - suitable for slaughter houses, mushroom cultivation, cooking rooms, drying rooms for cheese, laboratories for bread making. Easy to clean. 5 KSFRP Finishes FRP Coating Food related facilities require extremely stringent standards for health and safety; and must comply with HACCP and other governing regulations to ensure proper wash down procedures are followed in order to prevent any outbreaks of bacteria. To help buildings comply to these regulations, Kingspan have introduced Factory adhered FRP and Sealant system, FRP, a laminated Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) for lining the interior of the insulated metal panels. Combined with our joint product, this lining protects the metal panel and enables the interior of the panel to withstand extreme wash down procedures and has superior dent resistance. Panel Design KS45 FRP factory bonded FRP panels offer consistent performance with a durable scratch and dent resistant surface chemically bonded to the Insulated panel free of voids. Class A 0.90 FRP with full height to partial height coverage. Customer Options Choose from embossed or non-embossed smooth in Opaque White. USDA or CFIA grade sealant or PVC trims available. Applications KS45 FRP factory bonded FRP panels are suitable for use as wall and ceiling panels in food processing, production and ready to eat packaging facilities where sanitation is of utmost importance. The tight 3 /16 joint provides a clean low maintenance surface. 6

7 CLEANtech Kingspan offers a fully tested seamless Cleantech sealant for use in our Systems. This product is for use as part of the KSFRP System and all Kingspan metal coated finished products for a complete application to be considered a seamless FOODsafe joint in both appearance and performance. Cleantech is available in both a Flex and Monolithic applications providing a seamless and durable wall assembly. Fully Tested to ASTM D , Standard Test Method for Determining Strength of Adhesively Bonded Rigid Plastic Lap-Shear Joints in Shear by Tension Loading ASTM C793-05, Standard Test Method for Effects of Laboratory Accelerated Weathering on Elastomeric Joint Sealants. Additionally, passing an aggressive efreeze / Heat Cycle with humidity ranging from 20 to 100% and accelerated aging process for harsh environments across a range of temperatures and humidity, proving its ability in performance. Temperature resistance -40 F (-40 C to +90 C) Application temperature 41 F to 95 F (+5 C to +35 C) CLEANtech Semi-Flush Profiles PVC Coving Profile PVC internal corner coving has been designed to be fixed to a 3-way corner profile and to interface with a 55mm radius PVC or 45mm radius aluminium coving profiles. PVC covings have soft edges at the wall panel junction and are available in Imperial White finish. Installation Corner caps are fixed to the ceiling panels with self-tapping screws. PVC covings cannot be sealed to panels.
