1 Gar-Rock Gar-Rock is an all-weather, fast setting, chemical action concrete patching material designed to patch concrete surfaces where quick, permanent repairs are desired. Gar-Rock can be used at below freezing temperatures. It exhibits high compressive and flexural strength, and it forms a permanent bond to ordinary concrete. Gar-Rock is mixed with water only. It can be used in damp areas, and the material does not emit any toxic fumes. PRODUCT ADVANTAGES Reduces Downtime - Sets in 15 minutes. Ready for truck traffic in 45 minutes. Strength - Repaired area is stronger than the original surface. Versatile - Permanent repairs can be made anywhere, in any kind of weather. Easily Applied - Mixes with ordinary tap water. Pours or trowels easily into place. No primers required. Gar-Rock should only be applied to properly prepared surfaces. A sound base is essential for effective repairs. Chip out the area to be repaired approximately 1/4" (6.35 mm) deep. Remove all oil, grease, dust, dirt, and loose concrete material. Dampen the sides and the bottom of the hole. Remove any standing water from the area to be repaired. Use a clean mortar box and hoe or paddle type mortar mixer to mix the Gar-Rock. Only 3 1/2 pints (1.66 liters) of clean water are required to completely mix each 45 pound (20.4 kg) pail. Excess water reduces the strength of the cured product. Gar-Rock should be applied immediately after it is mixed. Place or force the mix into the prepared area and trowel until a smooth level surface has been reached. Work the material well into the base to insure a good bond. Do not overwork or overtrowel, and do not attempt to re-temper the mixture with additional water. For deep repairs, up to 25 lbs. (11.3 kg) of 3/8" (9.53 mm) aggregate can be added to increase yield. The aggregate mix should be applied up to 1/4" (6.35 mm) of the surface. Gar-Rock is then used to smooth and level the repair. USES Gar-Rock Gar-Rock is suitable for virtually all industrial concrete floor repairs. Gar-Rock can also be used to repair sidewalks, curbs, freezer rooms, truck docks and chuckholes. It is ideally suited for in-plant road maintenance and as a floor leveler for both interior and exterior applications. Gar-Rock makes an excellent filler for pitch pockets. Fill the pitch pocket with Gar-Rock 1" (25.4 mm) from the top and the rest is filled with Seal-Tite. Each unit of Gar-Rock will fill 648 cubic inches (0.01 m 3 ). Multiply the size of the pitch pan by the depth to get the cubic inches of the pitch pan, then divide into 648 and that will give you the number of pitch pans you can fill with one unit of Gar-Rock. 2 Seal-Tite Seal-Tite is a two-part, pourable, self-leveling, 100% solids, urethane sealant. It is designed to provide a high performance, elastic, weather resistant, durable seal to pitch pans against water entry. Seal-Tite is asbestos-free. Many problems associated with a building's roof area start with leaks around roof penetrations. Pitch pans are a common source for water entry. As they age and receive constant exposure to damaging weather conditions, materials commonly used in pitch pans shrink due to oil or solvent release. This soon causes areas for water entry that can damage the roofing system and eventually saturate the insulation below. Wet and deteriorating insulation soon loses its insulating value and allows moisture to negatively affect the underlying deck. Seal-Tite is designed to flow and fill every irregularity in the pitch pan. Since it is 100% solids, it will not shrink as it ages. With outstanding elongation and recovery properties, this product provides a long-term, flexible seal that readily resists UV, ozone, and moisture. PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES 100% Solids - Seal-Tite is a modified urethane sealant that contains no volatiles. It will provide a durable watertight seal that will not shrink as it ages. Seal-Tite outlasts all commonlyused tar or asphalt mastics. Self-leveling - Seal-Tite fills and readily conforms to all irregularly shaped and various sized pitch pans. Mixing - Seal-Tite's two components are colored differently to ensure proper mixing. Mix Part A with Part B until uniform color is achieved. SURFACE PREPARATION Clean the surface of both the newly installed pitch pan and any projections contained within the pitch pan, of all oils, tars, asphalts and other contaminants. After cleaning, scrub the top inside inch of the pan with steel wool. Next, fill the pitch pan with Gar-Rock within two inches of the top of the pan. Allow the Gar-Rock to fully cure (see Gar-Rock instructions). After the Gar-Rock has completely cured, pour the Seal-Tite into the pan until it is level with the top. Apply a hood (when appropriate) over the finished pitch pan and caulk the top of the hood. Gar-Rock Penetration Seal-Tite (2 Deep) For best results, apply Seal-Tite at temperatures between 40 F (4 C) and 90 F (32 C). Seal-Tite is designed to be tack-free within 8 hours. PRECAUTIONS Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors and contact with skin or eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Upon accidental contact with eyes, flush thoroughly with water and seek medical attention. When applying Seal-Tite to an existing pitch pan, remove all existing waterproofing and clean all metal with a wire brush. Seal-Tite may have an adverse affect if it comes in contact with residual asphalt or tar. Seal-Tite should not be used to "top off" existing pitch pans. Do not apply Seal-Tite over wet or oily surfaces or if rain is expected with in 8 hours. Seal-Tite is incompatible with TPO, Hypalon and APP membranes. STORAGE LIFE Approved Pitch Pan (Min. 4 High) Storage life of Seal-Tite is twelve months from date of manufacture when stored below 80 F (27 C) in original unopened containers.

4 Tuff-Stuff MS One-Part Elastomeric Adhesive Sealant Tuff-Stuff MS is a moisture-curing, single-component, non-sag, adhesive sealant that contains no solvents. When cured Tuff- Stuff MS offers the performance of a two-part sealant with the ease of installation associated with a one-part. It is designed to maintain an effective bond and seal between materials of similar and dissimilar surfaces, porosities and coefficients of expansion. Tuff-Stuff MS is designed for use in reglets, precast panels, tilt-up walls, metal curtain walls, copings, window and door perimeters, panel bedding and glazing details. PRODUCT ADVANTAGES Low Odor - Due to its modified silane chemistry, Tuff-Stuff MS is a low-odor product which makes it useful in VOC sensitive areas like hospitals, schools, and food production plants. Extended Life for High Movement - Tuff-Stuff MS high solid content optimizes minimal shrinking unlike heavily solvent based products which will shrink when exposed to UV as the solvent flashes out enabling high flexibility and long-term performance. Environmentally Safe - Tuff-Stuff MS does not use solvents or isocyanates and only contains 19 grams of VOC s per liter. User Friendly/Saves Money - Tuff-Stuff MS can be applied with a normal caulking gun, industrial type, and wet or dry tooled into a joint making it easy for in-house maintenance use. Cures Quickly - Tuff-Stuff MS utilizes a moisture assisted cure type chemistry which enables a fast skin time and is paintable within 3 days of install depending on the sealed joints overall dimensions. INSTALLATION Surface Preparation - Joint surfaces and backer rod must be dry and free of all contaminants such as oil, grease, wax, dust, corrosion, tar, asphalt, loose aggregate, frost, form-release agents, decorative and protective coatings. Precast panels using form release agents other than polyethylene film must be sandblasted or mechanically abraded and blown or brushed dust free. Glass, metal and other nonporous surfaces must be free of any coatings and wiped clean with solvent. Priming - Never a substitute for proper surface preparation, priming is not required on glass or anodized aluminum and usually not necessary on other common building materials. However, varieties of brick, natural stone, plastics, paints, EIFS, coatings and other treatments of surfaces often present difficult substrates at which to adhere. Due to the number and unpredictable nature of these substrates, a field test is recommended to determine the adhesion of Tuff-Stuff MS. Because architectural stones such as marble and granite vary considerably in porosity, some bleeding of the sealant into the substrate is a possibility. A field test to confirm this possibility is recommended. Joint Backing - Backer rods control the depth of the sealant and allows it to be applied under pressure. Use a size that will compress 25%. Open-cell polyurethane or reticulated (soft) polyethylene rod is recommended. Closed-cell polyethylene may be used but care must be taken not to puncture the rod, which can cause outgassing or bubbling/blistering in the sealant. In joints too shallow for backer rod, use a polyethylene bondbreaker tape to prevent three-sided adhesion. Joints should be masked to ensure a neat appearance. Sealant should be applied in a continuous operation using sufficient pressure to fill the joint and make complete contact to the joint sides. Tool the sealant slightly concave using dry-tooling techniques. Do not tool with soap or detergent and water solutions. Joint Design - The width of the joint should be a minimum of four (4) times the anticipated movement. The width or depth of the joint should not be less than 1/4 in. (6 mm). In joints up to 3/8 in. (9 mm) wide, the depth of the sealant should be equal to the width. In joints wider than 3/8 in. (9mm), but not exceeding 1-1/4 in. (31 mm), the depth should be maintained at 3/8 in. (9 mm). For joints wider than 1-1/4 in. (31 mm), please consult Garland s Technical Services Department. Movement Capability - 25% Extension - 25% Compression. Joint sealants do not change volume with expansion or compression, only shape; the greater the change in shape, the greater the stress on the sealant. Tool Time (Initial Skin) hours at 77 F (25 C); 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures and/or humidity will shorten this time. Cleaning - Use mineral spirits to remove excess sealant before it cures and to clean equipment. Storage Life - One-part MS polymer is extremely moisture and heat sensitive. Tuff-Stuff MS has a warranted shelf life of nine (9) months from the factory shipping date when stored in original unopened cartridges at conditions not exceeding 80 F (27 C), 50% relative humidity. Consistently higher temperatures and/or humidity will shorten the shelf life and valid warranty.

Apply White-Knight/White-Stallion Metal Primer over a small area at 1/4 gal./100 sq. ft. (0.11 l/m 2 ) and let set for twenty (20) minutes. Monitor to ensure adhesion and note if sag occurs. If any sag occurs, adjust coverage as necessary. Once adhesion is confirmed, then apply White-Knight/White-Stallion Metal Primer over the entire surface at 1/4 gal./100 sq. ft. (0.11 l/m 2 ). The first coat of White-Knight/White-Stallion Plus Base Coat should be applied at approximately 2 gal./100 sq. ft. (0.82 l/ m 2 ), 32 wet mils, stripped in over all seams, around penetrations, and fasteners. Allow roof system to dry for hours but no more than 72 hours. Next, install the finish coat at 2 gal./100 sq. ft. (0.82 l/m 2 ) over the entire roof (32 wet mils). The first layer may still be tacky at 24 hours; this is normal.

Spray application is not recommended below 50 F (10 C) In areas where the roof is subject to foot traffic, it is recommended to apply a granule walkway surface Excess water on the roof surface can cause the roof to become slippery If spraying, consult the White-Knight/White-Stallion Plus spray application guide Prior to coating any surface, be sure the coating will adhere by performing an adhesion test (ASTM D 903) Not intended to restore glaze coats of asphalt A reinforcement fabric should be used when coating over heavily alligatored areas or any type of surface irregularities For specific application recommendations and coverage rates, please contact your local Garland Representative or Garland Technical Service Department.
