TENDERS Tenders are requested for the construction of a forest resource road or roads for the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources, Newfoundland and Labrador Forest Service. 7 2-5 EQUIPMENT STATEMENT 12. The Contractor shall, in the space provided hereunder, furnish a list and complete description of the plant and equipment available for the prosecution of the work, which list shall include such dozers, loaders, trucks and graders normally required to carry out this work. The Owner reserves the right to order that additional equipment be used, if necessary, in the opinion of the Engineer, for the satisfactory carrying out of the work. 8 General Location PASTURE ROAD (HARRISONS) RESOURCE ROAD PROJECT W-131c CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS This contract is located in the general location of Pasture Road near Robinsons River. To arrive at the starting point of construction, travel approximately 4.4 kilometers east along the existing Pasture Road until you reach the Harrisons Resource Road on the right. Travel along this road for approximately 1.7 kilometers then turn right and travel approximately 2.0 kilometers to the end of the road and the starting point of construction. The starting point shall be marked with orange and blue flagging. See drawings 1 and Intent and Scope of Work The intent of this contract is to carry out and complete the following: i) the clearing of 2.53 hectares of right-of-way to a width of 20 meters. ii) the new construction of kilometers of type C" resource road. 3. Road Standards The driving width of a type C" resource road shall be 5.0 meters. Under proper driving conditions, the type "C" resource road shall permit traffic of tractor trailer trucks at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour. This road shall be constructed as herein specified and to the satisfaction of the Engineer. 4. Culverts The contractor shall supply and install six - 450mm x 8m, one 450mm x 9m and one 750mm x 9m corrugated aluminized culverts at the following approximate locations: Station Size Station Size mm x 8m mm x 8m mm x 8m mm x 8m mm x 8m mm x 9m mm x 8m mm x 9m The contractor must leave a ground vegetation buffer of at least 30 meters both sides of any proposed bridge site or culvert 750 mm diameter or greater. Unless otherwise stated, all culverts shall be a minimum of 8.0 meters in length and yet, be of adequate length so as to ensure a 5.0 meter driving surface.

9 General Information i) Construction or excavation shall not begin without prior approval of the Resource Roads Engineer or Resource Roads Inspector. ii) iii) iv) The contractor is responsible for locating a suitable source of gravel for this contract. All gravel must be approved by the Resource Road Inspector or the Resource Road Engineer After stripping, the center line of the road must be laid out by the contractor before further excavation is carried out. THE CONTRACTOR IS NOT TO REMOVE MEN OR EQUIPMENT FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE UNLESS WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION HAS BEEN OBTAINED FROM THE RESOURCE ROADS ENGINEER. SHOULD THE CONTRACTOR FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUEST, THEN THE CONTRACTOR MUST ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY IN HAVING EQUIPMENT RETURNED TO COMPLETE WORK. v) The contractor must ensure the salvage of merchantable timber including fuel wood and all species to a minimum top diameter of five (5) centimetres.
