3 Poesia glass Introducing Poesia Glass Bricks from Austral Bricks Welcome to the house of Poesia, the home of glassmakers. Poesia means poetry and it s this wonderful narrative and creative inspiration that flows through to the inspiration of Venetian crystal glass. Founded in 1983 by Danilo Macchion, Poesia s team of artisans have used closely guarded techniques to produce glass in its finest form; pure and crystal. Their magnificent and unique work is now the centrepiece of a new range of brilliant, transparent, coloured designer glass bricks called Poesia Glass. 4 AUSTRAL BRICKS The history of Murano glassmaking dates back to the 12th century. From that moment on, local Murano glassmakers explored and refined new methods to create the finest and the most sought after glassware in Europe. In the 1920 s for instance, art deco was all the rage which inspired the local craftsmen to produce glassware with a focus on interior design, minimalism, functionality and simplicity. Today that ethos still reverberates with the artisans of Poesia. / 4 /
