3 Folding Sliding Doors SFK70 - Thermally Broken Aluminium The SFK70 folding sliding door system is the highest specification thermally broken aluminium folding sliding door system available. It is the best complete aluminium system for external applications in any living or working environment. An ideal solution for openings in any extension, balcony, sunroom, conservatory, or around swimming pools, also suited to commercial situations, including pavement cafés, restaurants, and showrooms. Any number of panels can be connected in long trains that allow over 90% of the elevation to be opened. Will stack inside or outside of the room, to the left, the right, or split to stack on both sides. Runs with an odd number of panels end with a secure pass door furnished with lever handles both sides for daily use. Can be manufactured to maximum height of 2500mm, with panel widths of almost 1100mm. Overall heights of up to 3000mm can be achieved with a transom and slimmer panel widths. Top hung (suspended) or bottom rolling (floor supported) options are available. It offers the traditional, natural and warmth benefits of wood, blending beautifully into environmentally sensitive areas. An ideal solution for openings in any extension, balcony, sunroom, or conservatory, also suited to commercial situations, including pavement cafés, restaurants, and showrooms. Any number of panels can be connected in long trains that allow over 90% of the elevation to be opened. Will stack inside or outside of the room, to the left, the right, or split to stack on both sides. Perfect for giving a clean modern appearance to the outside of a building with minimal maintenance while achieving a warm and natural feel through the internal timber. It is an ideal solution for openings in any extension, balcony, sunroom, or conservatory, also suited to commercial situations, including pavement cafés, restaurants, and showrooms. It is the ideal folding sliding door solution for dividing garden rooms or conservatories from main living areas, or for dividing internal spaces, and is also suited to commercial situations, including pavement cafés, restaurants and showrooms. With the flexibility of our folding sliding doors, any project can be catered for. The following diagrams show the options for 1 to 7 panels, this will continue on for however many panels you need. Each of the diagrams below show opening out doors. These are fully-weathered, semi-weathered and flush tracks. Tracks can be recessed below the finished floor level to the inside and outside of the building. The amount that can be recessed depends upon the track type and the opening configuration of the system. Measurements show the track size and maximum finished floor level (MFFL), the amount that can recess below the finished floor. (NB: The tracks shown are for the SFK70. Flush tracks on both the SFK69 and SFK82 have a lower MFFL at 32mm. The biggest source of corrosion!! Aluminium doors are vulnerable to salt water corrosion so Sunfold doors can be supplied with their unique marine treatment to protect against saline environments. The frames are protected from corrosion by a specialised process that increases the bond between the powder coating and the frame. Mechanisms are protected through the use of... - Machined, anodised aluminium hinge profiles in black or silver. - A4 stainless steel hinge pins. - A4 stainless steel fixings. - Anodised threshold tracks. - A4 stainless steel and polyamide running gear. - Running gear with sealed bearings, top and bottom. - Mitres sealed with specialised protective resin. We recommend our marine treated doors for any location within five miles of the coastline, or any source of salt water. 8 Sliding Stacking Doors SFK25 - Sliding Stacking Doors The SFK25 sliding stacking doors are a contemporary system designed to create large uninterrupted glazed walls without frame or sightline. Constructed from single glazed panels they can be used to create an open, flexible and modern space for both living and working. An ideal solution for dividing rooms, office spaces, enclosing patio areas or balconies giving some protection from the elements while allowing an unobstructed view. Each panel of the system works individually and stacks to one side so that you can have as much or as little of the glass wall open at any one time. Panels can be put together in long runs to create glass walls across any opening size. Can be manufactured to heights of 2600mm with maximum panel widths of 900mm. Overall heights of 3000mm can be achieved with slimmer panel widths. Top hung (suspended) system with a bottom guide track. Will stack inside or outside of the opening, to the left, the right, or split to stack on both sides. The lead panel is normally opened from the inside by an unobtrusive stainless steel circular nib handle which operates the shoot bolts in the top and bottom track via a thin stainless steel cable. It is possible to have a handle on both sides of the system when required. Each panel has the ability to turn through 90 o, or any faceted angle up to 180 o to leave an open corner or bay. An ideal solution for enclosing cantilevered balconies. The single glass panel is available in 8mm or 10mm toughened glass manufactured to BS6206a. The essence of the system is to allow maximum light without vertical obstruction. Being single glazed the SFK25 cannot be used as a primary glazing system however it will help prevent penetration of harsh weather to the inside. A channel at the base allows any water by way of moisture to the inside surfaces to drain to the outside. (page 18 ) Power coating is available in any RAL colour to suit any style and taste SFK28 - Sliding Stacking Doors The SFK28 sliding stacking doors are our slim aluminium framed system that offer similar properties to the SFK25 as an ideal solution for dividing rooms and office spaces, or as protection from the elements around patios and balconies. In addition it will hold sealed glazed units in a lightweight system that has a moderate weather rating. Each panel of the system works individually and stacks to the side so that you can have as much or as little open at any one time. Panels can be put together in long runs for any opening size. Each panel interlocks with the next to create slim visual profiles. Can be manufactured to heights of 2600mm with maximum panel widths of 1000mm. Top hung (suspended) system with a bottom guide track. Will stack inside or outside of the opening, to the left, the right, or split to stack on both sides. Opened via a pass door that is secured by a handle operated multipoint lock. Key locking is available on the pass door for some additional security. Will accommodate our standard 28mm glazed unit. 9 Sliding Doors Sliding Aluminium Doors Our aluminium sliding door system offers a solution for those situations where a folding sliding door is not possible or appropriate. The multi tracked systems are designed to open up large elevations quickly and easily. They are suitable for both internal and external applications as they are available with and without a thermal break and form ideal solutions as room divides, extensions, balconies, sunrooms, conservatories and swimming pools, along with commercial situations including pavement cafes, restaurants and showrooms. Can be manufactured to maximum height of up to 3000mm with panels up to 2000mm wide. Panels are supplied on double or triple parallel tracks allowing up to 66% of the elevation to be open at any one time. Up to six panels can be fitted onto three tracks with all panels capable of sliding as fixed panels are not necessary. Panels are bottom running (floor supported) on drained floor guide tracks. Severe weather rated (to DIN 18055) to ensure draft free, year round, comfortable living. Complies with the revised part of Document L Building Regulations (April 2006). Sliding panels are locked against the frame with a multi-point locking mechanism. Panels are designed so that they cannot be levered out of the floor guide track. Like the standard sliding system the multi tracked systems are designed to open up large elevations quickly and easily. Suitable for applications in extensions, balconies, sunrooms, conservatories and swimming pools, along with commercial situations including pavement cafes, restaurants and showrooms. Can be manufactured to maximum height of up to 3000mm with panels in excess of 2000mm wide. Panels are supplied on double or triple parallel tracks allowing up to 66% of the elevation to be open at any one time. Panels are bottom running (floor supported) on drained floor guide tracks. Severe weather rated (to DIN 18055) to ensure draft free, year round, comfortable living. Complies with the revised part of Document L Building Regulations (April 2006). Sliding panels are locked against the frame with a multi-point locking internal handle that is ergonomically designed for easy operation of heavy panels. 11 Tilt Turn and Fixed Windows / SFCW 50:50 Composite Window Tilt Turn and Fixed Windows Tilt turn and fixed windows are available to complement each of our main folding sliding door systems. Available in aluminium, timber and combination aluminium and timber, the windows are designed as the ideal window solution to accompany our folding sliding doors. Other sunfold windows will offer a good alternative solution but the tilt turn and fixed panel options will provide the same profile details and style. Tilt and turn windows offer multi-functional use through one single operating handle. When the handle is moved to the tilt position the window opens in at the top allowing a source of ventilation. When the handle is moved to the turn position the window is hinged on either left or right and opens to the inside for an unobstructed view, complete ventilation & to make cleaning easy. Tilt turn windows comply with the Scottish Building regulations that state, Any window or part of a window more than 4m above the adjacent ground should be constructed so that its internal and external glazed surfaces can be cleaned safely from inside the building. SFCW 50:50 Composite Window The Sunfold SFCW window is a true composite system with a 50% aluminium 50% timber construction that can be supplied as opening in or opening out options in a variety of configurations. They are high performance windows that will achieve complete system U-Values of 1.4 W/m2K with standard double glazing options. Through adaptations, such as the inclusion of triple glazing, these values can be pushed closer to 1.0 W/m2K. The Sunfold SFCW true composite system combines timber to the inside and aluminium to the outside. Perfect for giving a clean modern appearance to the outside of a building with minimal maintenance, while achieving a warm and natural feel through the use of internal timber. Timber can painted to any RAL or NCS colour, or stained with Sikkens colour. Glazing gaskets are black with white internal weather strips that are concealed by the frame. SFCW-BHI Bottom Hung SFCW-SHI Side Hung SFCW-TT Tilt-turn Glazing Standard glass for windows is a 28mm (4/20/4) double glazed unit consisting of 4mm clear toughened with low E coating on the inside pane, argon gas filled cavity with silver spacer and 4mm clear toughened outside pane. U-values based on a window size of 1230mm x 1480mm are, 1.4 W/m²K for double glazed units (28mm with centre-pane value of 1.2 W/m²K). Triple glazed options can achieve overall U values down to as low as 1.1 W/m²K. Other glass specifications are available upon request. 12 Aluminium Roofs & Curtain Walling / Your Next Step Aluminium Roofs & Curtain Walling Using glazed roffing and curtain walling systems as part of new build, renovation and extension projects can provide a major design feature as well as increasing the amount of space and light a room feels that it has. Suitable for both commercial and domestic applications our aluminium roofs and curtain walling can be produced to suit a number of applications. Typical roof designs include lean-to s, roof-lanterns, roof-lights, conservatories, sunrooms, and they can also be produced to work in combination with our folding sliding doors systems. Roofs can span up to 5000mm wide without central supports. Glass centres, depending upon the projection, can be up to 800mm wide. This can increase to 1000mm with the use of heavier glass at smaller projections. Aluminium profiles include a full and efficient thermal break. Front edge roof bar or ring beam is designed to compliment Sunfold folding sliding door systems. Roofing systems comply with all current building regulations. Standard toughened double glazed units of 28mm are included, with soft coat (Low E) inner pane, and argon gas filled cavity. Roof systems can be powder coated to any RAL colour. Manual and electrically operated roof vents are available. Glazing bars and design details can be incorporated to produce your desired look.
