1 Req. # Page 5 of 15 SECTION 1 SCOPE OF WORK 1.01 SCOPE A. Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools and services required to supply wire rope cable, cut wire rope cable to required length, install pulling attachments, install fittings as needed, load certify, spool onto specified wire rope reels and deliver wire rope cable. B. In addition, the Contractor shall procure, store and protect master reels of specified cables. C. The contract period for the Equipment Wire Rope Cable service shall be for a length of thirty-six (36) months. D. The wire rope cable will be utilized on equipment currently stationed at the Garden City and Ocean Terminal locations of Georgia Ports Authority. E. It is not the intent of this specification to restrict the Contractor s work. The Contractor shall be fully responsible for the work as described herein and shall use these specifications as the minimum requirements acceptable to Owner SITE INSPECTIONS A. Prior to the quote, the Contractor may inspect the existing GPA equipment and wire rope cables to insure that all necessary items have been identified for the Contractor s work. B. The site inspection(s) shall be scheduled through the GPA Purchasing Department at (912) or (912) DESIGN STANDARDS A. The Contractor shall be responsible for complying with the regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies having jurisdiction over any portion of the work to be performed under this contract. B. The Contractor, as a minimum, shall comply with the applicable requirements of the latest and current revision of the following codes and specifications published by the following organizations: AISI ANSI ASNT ASME ASTM American Iron and Steel Institute American National Standards Institute American Society for Non-Destructive Testing American Society of Mechanical Engineers American Society for Testing Materials

All wire rope cable shall be: Manufactured to Federal Specification RR-W-410. Manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the Wire Rope User s Manual, latest Edition. Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC). Regular lay for right hand configuration. 6 x 36 Warrington Seale (WS) construction for items 1 through 37 of attachment 1, Rev 8. (Note: Owner will not accept other products within the 6 x 37 classification.) 8 x 28 Dyform construction, or comparable, for item 38 of attachment 1, Rev 8. Extra Improved Plow Steel (XIPS). New cable only. Manufactured using raw steel of U.S., Canadian, European, South Korean, or Japanese origin. Rope shall be closed in U.S., European, Canadian, South Korean, or Japanese facilities. Cable manufactured within two (2) years. Cable that has been in successful use on similar high-speed ship-to-shore container cranes for a minimum of five (5) years.

3 Req. # Page 7 of 15 Provide a Matched Set for each line item of wire rope cable listed in Attachment 1 Rev 8. The term Matched Sets is defined by the Georgia Ports Authority as wire rope cables in right hand lay configuration from the same wire rope master spool that meets all the requirements of this specification. B. Wire rope shall be in new condition with no damage or defects STORAGE: A. Contractor shall store and protect equipment wire rope cables at their place of business in a sheltered building. B. Contractor shall not store any other items on top of wire rope cable reels. C. Contractor shall provide a means to insure that the wire rope cable will retain cable lubricant and not dry out. D. Contractor shall allow Georgia Ports Authority the right to inspect and audit the equipment wire rope cable located at their place of business. E. Contractor shall maintain a minimum amount of equipment wire rope cable on hand as listed in Attachment 1, Rev 8, Anticipated Usage FY CUTTING OF CABLE: A. Contractor shall properly seize each wire rope cable before any cuts are made as per the Federal Specification RR-R- 57IA. B. Contractor may use any annealed low carbon steel wire for the seizing wire. C. Wire rope cable shall be cut by any one of the following devices: Mechanical wire rope shear Abrasive wheel Electric resistive cutter D. Contractor shall supply each wire rope cable listed in Attachment 1, Rev. 8 at the requested length with a tolerance of minus 0% to plus 1%. E. Contractor shall not include GPA requested fittings to determine the overall length of cable.

Contractor shall supply, install, and load test each fitting and attachments as listed in Attachment 1, Rev. 8 Equipment Wire Rope Cable Table WIRE ROPE CABLE SPOOLING: A. Contractor shall place equipment wire rope cables designated as 1.125BR, 1.125CR, 1.250AR, 1.250BR, 1.250ER, and 1.250FR on a shipping reel that shall not exceed the following dimensions: Shipping Reel Diameter: Shall be a minimum of 48 and maximum of 52 Shipping Reel Width: Shall 36 Shipping Reel Shaft Hole Size: Shall be 3 B. Contractor shall place all other equipment wire rope cables on shipping reels suitable for the wire rope cable size and length to be shipped. C. Contractor shall secure the outer face cable end to prevent accidental unwrapping from the wire rope shipping reel DELIVERY A. Contractor shall coordinate equipment wire rope cable delivery time and location with the Georgia Ports Authority Purchasing Department. B. Contractor shall deliver all spools with terminal designation GCT (see attachment 1, Rev. 8) to the Georgia Ports Authority Garden City Terminal. C. Contractor shall deliver all spools with terminal designation OT (see attachment 1, Rev. 8) to the Georgia Ports Authority Ocean Terminal maintenance building. D. Contractor shall supply and deliver the wire rope cable to the Georgia Ports Authority in a timely manner that shall not exceed twelve (12) hours for emergency situations, and twenty-four (24) hours for normal deliveries after initial request or as requested by the Georgia Ports Authority Purchasing Department. E. Contractor shall submit all documentation as listed in Section 3 Documentation, sub-section 3.02 After Award Of Contract at time of delivery of any requested equipment wire rope cable to the Georgia Ports Authority DISPOSAL A. Contractor shall be responsible for the removal of old cable greater than or equal to 1-1/8 diameter, as shown on attachment 1, Rev 8, from the Georgia Ports Authority upon completion of cable changes. GPA shall contact contractor s representative to schedule removal of cable as needed.

5 Req. # Page 9 of 15 B. Contractor shall be responsible for removal of discarded empty cable spools as needed. Georgia Ports Authority shall contact contractor s designated representative to schedule removal. SECTION 3 - DOCUMENTATION: 3.01 WITH BID PROPOSAL: A. Three (3) customer references are desired. Contractor must provide and make a part of this bid a minimum of at least one (1) customer reference that utilizes the wire rope cable specified in this bid. The list, as a minimum, shall include the following information: Wire rope cable manufacturer. Brand name of wire rope cable. Typical certification document. Company name and location, contact name, and phone number of the Port Authority that has used this cable for at least five (5) years on STS container cranes. The number of years the wire rope cable has been in service at the above listed companies. B. Contractor shall submit their average time of response, not to exceed 12 hours, to a request for service by the Georgia Ports Authority that is an emergency. Specify guaranteed response time: C. Contractor shall submit their average time of response, not to exceed 24 hours, to a request for service by the Georgia Ports Authority that is a non-emergency. Specify guaranteed response time: D. Contractor shall provide pricing in Section 4, and the attached lists labeled Attachment 1, Rev. 8, that shall include the following Options, if so desired): Linear cost per foot for each cable to be supplied to Georgia Ports Authority AFTER AWARD OF CONTRACT: A. The successful bidder shall submit a list of name(s) and contact number(s) of their designated contact person(s) for normal and after work hours. B. The successful bidder shall supply test load certification papers with each cable supplied. C. The successful bidder shall supply test load certification papers for each fitting applied to the equipment wire rope cable.

6 Req. # Page 10 of 15 D. The successful bidder shall supply the original certification / documentation for each delivered spool of cable purchased from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The original certification must be sent with the invoice to the attention of the designated Maintenance Representative (Kenny Allen). A copy of the certification must accompany the order upon delivery to the Georgia Ports Authority Storeroom. E. The successful bidder shall submit in writing, for approval by Georgia Ports Authority, prior to any changes in the wire rope cable manufacturer, brand name to be supplied and bidders procedures during the contract period. SECTION 4 CREDITS (Specify credit for the following): Wire Rope Spool Return: Specify amount of credit to GPA for return of empty wire rope spool. $ SECTION 5 SURPLUS WIRE ROPE: A. Contractor will be responsible for purchasing and removing from GPA property, surplus wire rope that is greater than or equal to 1-1/8 in diameter, per attached wire rope table, Attachment 1.
