4 WP 6: Regional Case Studies OBJECTIVES Collect field data for building a common database which includes information about the biotic, abiotic, management and socio-economic conditions of the study area. Use the case study areas as actual scenarios for model validation and testing. Burkina Faso R. of Congo Ethiopia Ghana Kenya Malawi Sudan Tanzania Togo
5 CASE STUDY AREAS SELECTION. 22 potential study areas: -4 for Burkina Faso -3 for the Republic of Congo -4 for Ghana -3 for Togo -3 for Malawi -5 for Sudan Selection was based on: - Good representation of the main natural and agricultural ecosystems -Presence of meteo stations - Existing background information: climate, soil, vegetation, etc. - Preference of African focal groups (synergies with previous studies, etc.)
