22 THE PROJECT AlForLab is a project funded by the Research and Innovation National Operative Programme (PON). It is part of the Materials-Energy-Environment (MEA) cluster of Calabria Region Objectives: -to develop and integrate innovative technologies to enhance forest and environmental resources of Calabria Region -all the steps of the environment-forest-wood chain: from the forest stand to the exploitation, logistic and advanced wood products. - advanced inventory for forest and ecosystem services (e.g. water, carbon sequestration, erosion and fire prevention) - assisted planning for sustainable forest management (DSS) - Integrated information sistem for forest resources (SIRFOR) using mapping, remote and proximal sensing, forest models, LIDAR, etc
