3 Introduction Background In 2001 Eurofortech, Eurifi, Euroligna and Eurowood launched the InnovaWood Initiative in order to create a coordinated support infrastructure for innovation in the Forest, Wood-based and Furniture industries sector. InnovaWood is an umbrella organisation that integrates four European networks in the Forest, Wood-based and Furniture industries into a more effective mechanism to support innovation in these sectors. Mission "Towards an integrated European area for innovation, research and skills development in the forest - wood & furniture chain"
