1 Improve the quality of primary reformer catalyst loading by Unidense technology UNIDENSE TM catalyst loading technology is used for filling primary reformer tubes in ammonia, methanol, hydrogen and other reformer based plants. l t It results in i a high h and d uniform catalyst density for efficient operation of the primary reformer. UNIDENSE TM is a simple and fast loading technology applicable to tube sizes from 3 to 10 internal diameter. UNIDENSE TM requires no pre-socking of catalyst and no vibration of the reformer tubes. UNIDENSE TM combines being a high quality and fast loading technology. Reloading of tubes is normally avoided, and less catalyst is wasted. Primary reformer loading Fast loading No presocking of catalyst No vibration of the tubes Uniform pressure drop Less waste of catalyst No bridging or extra voids High uniform density Loading of catalyst UNIDENSE TM principle: Catalyst is filled into the tube and the loading rope is gradually pulled out of the tube as the catalyst layer builds up. The brushes with flexible springs reduce the speed of the catalyst particles so that the breakage is avoided. The catalyst particles are loaded without bridges and unnecessary voids, hence there is no need for vibration. By applying the UNIDENSE TM technology the loading time of the primary reformer can be substantially reduced whilst maintaining high quality loading. Typical loading time for 4 tubes is 8 minutes. UNIDENSE TM technology ensures even gas flow in the tubes, and the pressure drop variation is kept to a minimum. The density will normally be higher than with the sock -method, resulting in slightly increased, but more even pressure drop, due to better packing. Since there are no extra voids, further settling of the catalyst, and thus pressure drop increase, will be minimal. UNIDENSE TM gives high uniform density along the full length of the tube, decreasing the risk of hot spots and contributing to lower tube wall UNIDENSE TM technology has been used for loading of all common catalyst types and sizes. Reformer tube designs with varying internal diameter, narrow or wide top section, have successively been loaded.

3 Automatic reformer loading by UNIDENSE Technology Manual loading using the UNIDENSE Technology Reformer tubes UNIDENSE is a simple and fast loading technology for loading reformer tubes with catalyst, applicable to tube internal diameter sizes from 3 and over. UNIDENSE requires no presocking of catalyst and no vibration of the reformer tubes. UNIDENSE combines a fast loading technology with high quality performance. With this technology, reloading of tubes can be reduced tot a minimum and less catalyst is wasted. UNIDENSE principle: catalyst is loaded into the tube and the loading rope is gradually pulled out of the tube as the catalyst layer builds up. The brushes with flexible springs reduce the speed of the catalyst particles so that breakage is avoided. The catalyst particles are loaded without bridging and unnecessary voids, hence there is no need for vibration. 4 Automatic reformer loading by UNIDENSE Technology UNILOADER The UNILOADER is a machine for automatic loading of reformer tubes with catalyst by using the UNIDENSE principle. UNIDENSE is a leading and proven technology used within the syngas industry to load methanol, hydrogen and other reformers with catalyst. The UNILOADER brings extra benefits to the UNIDENSE technology. The possibility of human error is eliminated and the technology works more accurate, the result of which is an improved average pressure drop ( 3%). This improved performance is achieved in combination with faster loading speeds (up to two times faster) compared to the manual technique. UNIDENSE technology is used for loading all common catalyst types and sizes. Reformer tube designs with varying internal diameter, narrow or wide top section, have successfully been loaded.
