2 Introduction Urban Strategy Tool (UST) originated in collaboration between research organization TNO and ARCADIS UST facilitates easy access to models of urbanized areas.

3 Why an integrated interactive urban planning tool? Trends Ever growing need for integral views on city development projects, which is complex and time consuming o Strategic urban (mobility) planning o Environmental impact analysis o Integral urban development and redevelopment o Urban hotspot issues Growing availability of city data for use in complex integral issues Benefits Integrated view from the start o Parameters in time and space o Simultaneous parameters o Use of verified models 25-50% faster in time and effort needed by avoiding numerous processing sequences Instant re-use, new models, new inputs Allows for realtime cross domain teamwork

9 NOC (North East Corridor) Project description Improve the accessibility in the Eindhoven- Helmond-Veghel region. The aim was to stay an attractive working and living environment with acceptable travel times. An Environmental Impact Assessment has been drafted, including stakeholder consultation. Urban Strategy TM was used for the Noise, Air and Health calculations. Project example

10 NOC (North East Corridor) Project description Decision making in the NOC is challenging due to a number of factors: a large study area, many different designs and highly involved residents. Fast integrated approach, taking into account the interrelationships between topics Easy comparison of multiple scenario s and designs, which allows for a larger number of scenario s or larger study area Interactive sessions with stakeholders to stimulate participation and create support Visualization in 3D and in diagrams (tables) Data is easy interchangeable with GIS for further analyses or with other noise and air software Project example
